I started driving to work today and after a mile or so I noticed a funny feeling in the clutch. It feels way differnt when I press on it, it kinds feels gritty. I was able to drive it do I took it back home. First gear was the worst. Car has only 700 miles on it. I really don't work on it myself, but would still like some advice.

Thanks

Marty

Order a new (shortened) cable soonest - my bet is the cable strands are individually breaking and entire thing will soon be history. It could just be it needs to be removed and heavily greased - but just as easy to replace it at same time. Other possiblities are the cable housing breaking away from being secured to brackets in the tunnel to the rubber covered extension tube being at wrong angle/length.
