Let me first say that in one other post I am chasing a suspected bowden tube problem.

Next problem: When the clutch pedal is released the clutch is engaged and seems to work properly with no slippage. The pedal seems to let the clutch out a little bit high in the pedal through for what I am used to, but this is my first air cooled/ cable clutch vehicle. It might be normal and fine.

During the pedal travel from full up (clutch engaged)position to the full down (on the floorboard)position something unusual happens. It disengages fine with no noise until about 1/2 to 3/4 pressed down position. From this point down it begins to whine. I have photos from the previous owner of the engine rebuild less than 300 miles ago showing a new OEM Sachs clutch and fingered pressure plate. Is it possible to push the throw out bearing and pressure plate fingers too far? Might this be causing damage by rubbing against the clutch disk etc.?
