Tboned....don't be discouraged with the distance. Have a local lad check it over for you and get the deal done. Shipping can be a hit or miss affair sometimes and I'd recommend as an alternative to just have a high mileage speedster owner drive it over for you.....
I agree. There are a few guys here on the site who live in Florida. Have one of them check it out and see if you can broker a deal.

Delaware is good 18 hours north of Florida. You want some one in northern Washington Metro area or Phila, PA.

I appreciate the discussion and promotion, but Florida isn't close at all. There's only a handful of Speedsters in Delaware, great for getting attention - sucks for meeting and talking shop. I looked for 3 years before getting mine - most of the ones I saw were located in NJ, PA, MD or VA. We lost the ability to search by Owners state a few years back when this site got overhauled. Other than hoping someone nearby sees the post I can't help in identifying a fellow owner nearby to look it over for you. I have additional documentation if anyone is interested. Thanks Again
I'd be happy go see it for anyone who might have interest and entrust me to pass on a discriminating opinion for what it's worth. Don't be afraid to ask not only would I enjoy the trip but certainly enjoyable to see and chat with fellow speedster owners. Could possibly take a walkround video and/or focus and forward any/all areas of interest. For what its worth my boyfriend and I owned a restoration shop for more than 20 years only sayin so as not to think I'd be wasting your time.

I'll be in Bethany Beach around 6/20, and might could find a way to get to Dover that week, if you need some eyes/hands on. Pls advise if that would further the cause here.

Very interesting engine combo, Jason. How high does it rev with power?
PS- the ad states the car has 3500 miles on it. Is that the mileage on the engine as well?
Great power plant, not sure how to answer your question about revs - but on the highway she cruises 65MPH at 3000 RPM. As for mileage, I got the car with 998 on it and I have put the other 2500 on it. The gauges were changed out before I got it so I really can't say with any confidence. I had it checked out by an old VW mechanic when I bought it and he thought it was a fresh build.
