Good price. Inject another $8-10K and you'd have a pretty sweet car!

That gas tank wouldn't hold my morning coffee.
@Alan Merklin well that might be an interesting refresh todo? Were trying to help you out Alan..
What a strange place for the battery - do you pull engine to replace? A single cyclops gauge (tach). I think DrClock would avoid that one.
Look under 'do it yourself' in the dictionary, and this comes up...
Nice patina, though.
How do you get in contact with the seller?
Maybe visit Puerto Rico - That's where the license plate is from.
"George" been there?
Probably cost more to ship it to the states than the car would cost.
I choked on my beer at the first couple prices for the VW buses! Makes those fiberglass replicas look very inexpensive. Who would ever thought you couldn't risk driving one on the street for what it was now worth!

The asking price on a 21 or 23 window bus, fully restored, has been north of $100k for several years. I’m not sure if they bring that, but that’s the ask. What interests me is why the Brazilian 15 window is only $30K. Asking prices on oldbug.com have always been “aspirational”, but they list nice vehicles.
I’ve got a ‘63 panel I bought on TheSamba years ago as an investment. But as most of my investments go, I bought the wrong thing at the wrong time. The market for busses is actually softening. The bus I’ve got is too nice to strip and spend $30k for a good metal/paint job, but not nice enough to be worth long money. It’s stupid-cool, but the motor’s been out for about 5 years... while I contend with other, more pressing matters.
... and yes, those ‘glass repops are VERY interesting
