Woow super fast !!!! Can’t believe thx so much !!!!
In US that Certificate of Origin (COO) along with the gold CMC tag is the official title for the fiberglass kit body of the Speedster. If it's on a VW pan, that and the VW donor car will get the replica registered in most states. Often builders just use the VW title that matches the donor's pan VIN.
I have the same COO and gold id plate for my 1988 CMC. I don't know where those COOs are registered (or if they are) but they are an official "title" issued thru State of Florida - they is no certificate of authenticity other than that watermarked document. I don't know if FL records or tracks the COO (CMC went belly up in 1992). State titles use a similar paper.

Are they in business again?
I send a mail to CMC abut no responses....
Not sure why someone would set up that CMC web site. CMC (in all its follow-on company names - Auto Resolutions/Street Beasts gone). George Levin would not try to revive it. The new CMC web site is in FR - Mid-Pyrenes and was setup in 2018. Why set it up? - got me. Noticed PO's COO was signed by a Levin!

^FAKE NEWS!!!
.Here's what the CMC factory site actually looks like today:
It looks remarkably similar to the SAS/SAW factory.

OK, my penchant for telling tall tales here has caught up with me.
This actually IS what the former CMC factory site looks like today - or at least part of it.
Wolfgang's photo shows what 16650 N.W. 27th Avenue, Miami looked like when CMC was in residence:
And here, thanks to Google Maps, is what that site looks like today:
The strip mall in my first photo is in the foreground of the wider view. There's also a much larger shopping center and a Mobil truck stop there, too.
I wonder what the total monthly rent for that site is today.
Time marches on.
ill take a Speedster, extra onions, hold the mayo
@Sacto Mitch - I just thought you were making yet another funny, but now that I look more closely at your choice of words, I can see you were serious.
I'm just not used to that.
Well, you never know. IIRC, Intermeccanica gave up the ghost in Italy, surfaced in CA as a replica builder, then moved to Vancouver. Puma quit Brazil and surfaced some time later in South Africa.
I’m sure it would be a boon to CMC/Fiberfab owners if someone had picked up the ball and run from it, even if it was in France.

Interesting choice of words. Usually you pick up the ball and run WITH it. But with CMC I guess running FROM it would be apropos.

LOL. That darn Siri. I guess I need to pay more attention to what she’s typing!
But you’re right, based on my experience with them back in the 90’s, probably apropos.
The Old CMC building was much more attractive than another vacant mall! I fortunately got all my parts from them. Some like the radio provided were crap - even back in 1988. They tried to screw me on shipping - FL to No. VA. I arranged shipping thru my brother's company for $550. I had told them I had arranged shipping and to notify me when it was ready to be picked up. No call so I called and they said they had already shipped via Pilot COD for $1440. Fortunately that was the same company my brother used so they used his prepaid shipping! Took several tries to get matching front turn signals and a few backordered items but did get them all eventually. Even got an extra front hood!

All you need now is to finish putting it together!
I'm willing to help.
.
@WOLFGANG , it's possible that's just an artist's drawing of the old CMC building.
But you could build your very own 150,000 square foot showroom and factory from a CMC kit.
Following the well-illustrated, step-by-step instruction manual, you could have your factory up and running in, typically, just 40 hours, with average mechanical ability and ordinary tools. Help from family and friends can help cut down on assembly time. Isn't it time for your dream to start shaping into reality?
just add a boat to that ad

No, no, no. Greg wants to be laying on his death bed, and not having ever turned a wheel under it's own power. Isn't that the proper path of all garage-built CMC?
Actually, I think Greg enjoys his MX5 so much that he doesn't feel the need to finish the Speedster. It's a nice car.
@DannyP, what's this proper path thing?! That wasn't/isn't the path of my garage-built CMC, nor for others.
Exactly, YOU and many others have finished theirs. The majority though get sold unbuilt/unfinished, then someone actually COMPLETES the car.
How do think Merklin made his fortune LOL!
I had an early 911 basket-case for about 5 years. I came to the conclusion that I'd never finish it, and sold it someone else who would, and did.
@DannyP, I thought you were saying the proper path is " laying on his death bed, and not having ever turned a wheel under it's own power"
I guess that's Greg's path. And maybe Al B's too. Unfortunate for both the cars and the people, I like them both.
I like them both too. I think one factor for Greg now is that he lives some distance from where the Speedster is. Of course, that wasn't a factor before he moved to Florida. I have no idea what is impeding Al's progress.
Al has to look at the hole picture before he does anything.

Well, whatever you do - don't bring up double-wall (or adjustable) spring plates.
Yeah, Mr. Hyde came out the last time...

Same thing happened with my 69 912. After I bought the SC. I kind of lost my direction. What I wouldn’t give to have that $5K engine rebuild (1990 dollars) in my Spyder.
I have two versions of same from CMC --- not Fiberfab. Inside is also the color guide. The second one is stamped 1989.
In one of the price lists the hard tonneau is listed for $550 in your choice of gel-coat colors.
I bought mine new in November 1988. I also have the original computer print out of parts shipped with some saying backordered. The sheets match the COO and the gold id sticker. Someone said that number was the sales slip invoice # which seems to be true.
