This kit has never been on the road. My door gaps are shown in the pics. Is this able to be corrected. All the CMC builds that I see do not look this bad. Thanks.

I had a very early intermechanica speedster that had wonky gaps. I fixed all the gaps by adding fiberglass or grinding existing fiberglass to proper gap. Either way, yes it can be fixed but it is bodywork and the car will have to be repainted when gaps are correct.

Assuming you'll be repainting? You also have windshield post to cowl spacing issue that can allow the windshield to rock and break. Fixes are removing the two small screws, re-tap to locate the post lower or make a black hard rubber spacer for under the post.
There are shims at the hinges that can be added/removed. How is the gap at the rear door opening? Many CMCs have butt sag that causes a bigger gap at the top than the bottom. Fixes are covered in a couple of threads here. Mine sticks out 1/4" at the rear bottom of the door - that takes slicing the inner door panel and rebonding it.
No butt sag at all. Just an issue on the spot in the pic. I will look into the shims. I cannot imagine that I have to modify the fiberglass on a brand new kit. Thank you for the information.
The top radius having a larger gap is standard on the CMC's you can shim the lower hinge to increase the forward lower vertical gap but keep in mind that will raise the rear portion of the door latch on the door to the jamb striker could become an issue.
Not really a NEW kit - from 1990 at best so 30 years old. Although provided to buyer in finished gel coat - they weren't noted for precision build. They were built to a specific (inexpensive) price point --- If $9k was inexpensive back in 1990. I had issues in 1989 with hood and engine lid - they sent me replacements when I notified them after delivery.
