Is anyone interested in a CMC engine grille? Never used. I would like $40 plus shipping, or make me an offer.

Yes...I would be interested. Could you measure it and post dimensions please? Do you know if it will fit a VS ?
Mike
I don't believe it will fit a VS..... They use a stainless steel grill that is somewhat larger, as do just about all the other builders do....
Darnit...well, that's too bad.
I'd check actual measurements of the donor grill and the patient. These builds are not precise.
I bet adding the original Porsche rubber surround gasket would make it fit (or darn close). Does VS use the gasket?
It is approx. 8" x 14". See pictures below.
PS. I can't figure out how the pics are rotated when uploading??
My CMC grill for example is 14 1/2" x 8 7/16". They must have had different hibachi suppliers?
BTW, those were great little bbq's for college date night cooking! I guess the must have lost market share, when little Weber's came on the scene. Grilled fish, chix and a bottle of Mateus wine.
James measured the end that goes in the fiberglass. Art, Did you measure the top lip? That would explain the difference. Remember those are made of Unobtainium.
I haven't had a bottle of Mateus or Allianca wine in 30 years!
Wolfgang, I measured the facade that I thought/think meshes up with fiber cut out. But Unobtainium, is as you reminded me before, is altitude sensitive.
Mateus, was for me preferred, as it was slightly drier than Lancer's. I was not aware , or can't remember Allianca. Mateus and Lancers, made great candle holders for future endeavors, as they say.
Cheers
My 'bachi is 14 5/8 x 8 1/2".
Frank, we are pretty close, time for a Bobby Flay throw down BBQ????
You got it Art!
I'm in a rare position to be able to measure both grills PLUS the Sierra Madre grill and the Porsche gasket combined... but that would require me to go out to the garage and do stuff.
I think Gordon once measured the Repro grill and the CMC grill and found there was a 1/4" difference between the two. Meaning that if you tried to use a CMC grill on a car cut for a VS or Pcar repro - the CMC grill would be smaller than the hole.
If anyone really needs the measurements, I'll get off my duff and measure both for you.
Ted
mine fits fine I'm happy
I don't need your measurements. Mine works just fine, thank you.
