Jamo, it is with some sadness that I read your post.
One of the myths Speedster owners talk themselves into is that the time will eventually come when they have all of the parts they need to happily drive their Speedsters down the road.
The sad truth is that whether you build the Speedster yourself or buy a 'completed' one, no Speedster is ever actually complete. Every drive, no matter how satisfying, leaves you with the feeling that if only you had that one more part, that one more system, that one more accessory, that one more...thing, your Speedster would be complete, life would be fulfilling, and you would at last be truly happy.
But alas, with a Speedster that moment never comes.
This doesn't seem to happen with Toyotas or Hondas or Miatas, which leave the factory pretty much as finished as they will ever need to be.
What Toyota driver buzzes down the freeway, nervously listening to his engine, wondering if a different ignition setup or idle jet would sound better and make him happier? How many Toyota drivers listen to their cars at all?
By looking at that curious pile of fiberglass parts and imagining yourself in a real car, driving down life's highway, you have revealed a character flaw and a slightly delusional state that we all share.
Here, we simply call it 'the madness' and you have my sincere sympathies.
For better or worse, welcome aboard.
