CMC frame question

Theres a square bracket with a few holes in it that appear that it should bolt to the rear seat "tub". The bracket is directly in front of the rear wheel by about a foot or so. Its been drilled, but the bolts are not in it... strange.

I don't have that on my CMC......

Keith, that plate steel is the attachment point for the factory roll bar. I removed the one from my car because it was ugly. It is a good idea to fabricate a nice looking plate drilled to the same pattern to bolt down the tub in that rear package area. Or, just use some washers. Bolting the tub down there makes the body a little stiffer.

That's exactly what I thought! I was thinking "3/8 inch think, solid steel... Hmmm" I'll go grab some buttonhead allens to make it flush behind that carpet ..

That must be an early one or maybe builder added. My CMC has the mounts for the bar as shown in the book. Figure "L" is the mount.

That's it!! That's what it was!

My CMC also has some plates under the flat part of the package shelf for bolting the roll bar upright. Look for those on your CMC, Keith. I think that the ones you found are for the roll bar strut.

Chuck you are right. I wish I knew when my car was made at CMC...
