@Pagosaporsche recently posted classified ad for the OEM CMC gold/chrome wheels.  I looked at photo he posted and immediately thought -- those aren't the OEM CMC offered wide body wheels that I remember.  I've seen the ones he posted but not from CMC (I bought old VW that had the ones he posted but in different size).

Here's one posted -

Here's ones I recall as CMC option - There must be 2 versions!

Thanks for responding to my inquiry about these wheels.  My Dad purchased this Speedster C kit from CMC in July of 1983.   He took meticulous notes and kept all the promotional materials, invoices and receipts.  He paid extra for the chrome and gold wheel option but evidently they shipped the wrong wheels at the time as you can see on the attached invoice.   The promotional materials showed the triangular holes but he ended up with the round holes.  Does anyone have any more information about these wheels, such as who manufactured them or suggestions on where I might search?  I have one wheel that isn't perfectly true even after balancing and it would be nice to have a spare.    Thanks

CMC was noted for supply issues.  Mine came with many back ordered items marked on inventory sheet.  Took several months to get items --- but at least I got them (later folks didn't).  Wonder if a wheel repair shock could make yours straighter???

Heritage had some for sale years ago - His matched yours.
