CMC parts

I just purchased a CMC '55 Speedster. It's not quite complete. I need to purchase a complete top assembly (frame and fabric), side curtains, door handles and some trim. Can anyone help with suggested vendors? Or if anyone has any NOS please let me know.

Hi there, Vintage Speedsters is probably where you should go. Visit their website and you will have a list of all parts that they sell. Call them for more info, they are very helpful.

Another place, although I have not used them personally (but Jerome Smith has) is Street Beasts, who used to be the CMC folks.

Being an original CMC kit purchaser from 15 years ago I was one of the lucky ones who had good experiences with them. I know Jerome was happy with Streetbeasts but I would be curious to hear feedback from folks who have recently purchased parts from Streetbeasts - cost, quality, customer service, etc.

I havn't contacted SB for a long time now. When I was building my car I would call Maria at the factory and she was very helpful. I never had any luck with the contact form on the web site. Also from about Nov. 2002 on the technical service was hard to get a hold of. I do know they were makeing some personel changes and trying to reorganize their parts dept. I havn't heard anything lately.

I can't say what the current situation is.

I tried getting a replacement fender from them (Street Beasts) and had some significant runaround before finally being told that they no longer have the molds for the "Classic" version of the Speedster. They do still produce the flared version. Not sure if this is true or if they just didn't want to sell just a fender.
