I installed the roll bar on a widebody CMC. Well, with the seat all the way back against the bar, I'm just about right on the pedals(I'm 5'8") BUT I hit my head on the stupid thing!
When I installed the bar I made wedges to put between the fiberglass and frame(below rear seat, installed from inside of wheel well) to keep it from cracking. If i remove the wedges and cut out squares of fiberglass (This will get me bolting direct to frame) the bar should roll back about an inch at seat height and two or more at head height. I assume this will throw the rear bracket out of place. I hate to go cutting and redrilling everything before i know if it will work. Should I junk that bar or can i get it to fit me?

My bar is not the same as yours, i have measured 31 inches across at 6 inches down(too narrow). 28 inch height off the fiberglass, 4.75 inches back from a straight edge placed on door edge of body.
i just removed the bolts(except two on bottom, loosened) and tried to roll the bar back, no dice! The rear brackets are wedged in tight.
If I raise it up an an inch or two I may have more room to push it back. I'll need to put the top on to check for clearance.
I guess I could cut some off the rear bracket and weld it back, but that seems extreme for a custom made part.
I have not checked the fit of the tonneau cover but I will soon. The cover i have had to be modified in that it was too short over the instrument panel, the top appears too short as well but i havent got to the windshield yet so ??? The fiberglass piece for the top was not the correct shape and will need to be modified. My "painless" wiring harness came with no shematic, many unlabeled wires, no plugs at all AND of course none of the colors are the same as my CMC diagrams, so you can see that i still have my work cut out for me.
I really appreciate the help and moral support you guys are always giving me! THANX!! BILL
