CMC seat removal | 356 Speedster, 550 Spyder, Replica, Automotive Community

I need to remove seats and don't want to force anything. do they slide off the rails? I get them to slide but not off. Do I need to remove base? Any how-to help is appreciated

Since CMC was for the most part a homebuilt speedster there are a number of methods used to install the seats. Universal tracks do not slide forward to release but OEM VW stock tracks do . You probably will need to unbolt the seat tracks from under the floor .

Yours are probably like these - think for safety they aren't resigned to slide off. You can either pull seat cushion and remove bolts or remove studs/bolts that go through the floor pan. Make sure you use large fender washers (at least) when reinstalling them.
