Good looking tub, Steve! Looks like a great price, too.
What size is the engine? Is there a vin# for the pan? Where's it originally from?
The engine is a 1600 single port smogger. It was assembled in 1980 and would have needed smog in CA (no longer necessary). The pan is a 1970 with numbers which are no longer in the DMV system. It is a CA car from Monterey. I am somewhat negotiable on the price. Are you interested?
Good deal. Alan...
No Steve, I'm not. I have one already, but I think it's a great price for what looks like a very complete car. I asked those questions to beat Al to the punch.
Good luck with the sale!
I think the price is super fair and whoever gets the car will be very happy. I also have the wrap around bumpers, tonto cover, new exterior chrome and lights, new hub caps and so much more. This car has never been registered but it runs very well and drives well except for the somewhat square 35 year old radial TA 50s. It has bilstein shocks lowering kit. The pan is a 1970 and everything was rebuilt during assembly and works well. The wheels were custom built for this car.
I like the sinister black body/black wheels look.

You tree'd me, Terry! I was away, dune buggying in the mountains for the weekend, and just got home a couple hours ago. We did the Whipsaw (near Princeton, British Columbia), which used to be in the top 10 of BFGoodrichs's list of top 4x4 trails in North America. Can't find it now, but look at this and scroll down to #10-

If anybody's interested I'll post pics as I get them....Al
Steve - glad you were able to find the right buyer for that bad boy! Someone got a smoking deal!
What's your next project going to be?
Al - I've done 4 of those trails; Rubicon, Moab, Johnson Valley & Mojave.
Good deal Jim! It is a lot of fun. The Whipsaw is completely different- forest and sub-alpine, the hill climbs are ever changine with the rock and dirt slowly giving way to bedrock in places, and when it's wet there's a LOT OF MUD!!!
If you want to get away and put the Whipsaw under your belt one Labor Day weekend, let me know. I just might be able to find you a seat in a dune buggy...
If you guys want to do some SERIOUS 4 wheeling, think rock crawling, come on over to Fresno County. We have LOTS of trails up here and one of them, the Dusy Ershim, is rated one of the toughest. Here's a link:
I need to take some time off from being a workaholic. Letting go of a project to spend more time with my (awesome) wife and play with my old motorcycles. I have a thing for 70,s motorcycles. I have a few and plan to ride and restore them and others. They are a little less involved less expensive and easy to go enjoy. I have Street, enduro and MX bikes. With The Sierras in my back yard sport and enduro riding is unbelievable.
Wolfman, is that a Rottie in your avatar?

That would be fun as well, Robert. This is SERIOUS 4wheeling as well; up here it's just a little different than desert rock crawling.
I have a couple of Rotts. They watch over my stuff! He is my big baby.
That, and he just posted this:

No worries, Robert; no offense taken. A little chain yanking on both sides...
Robert
I just bought this as my daily driver. I've only ever done limited 4-wheeling so it would be great to head out with you one day! Chris
Very nice FJ. Our Search and Rescue Team was training one day and we had hiked to the top of Bear Mountain which also has a decent four wheel trail that leads to the top. We were cutting through an area when we came across a guy in a stock FJ with street tires and no lift. I was impressed with the fact he made it up to the top in a purely stock ride as the trail is moderately difficult.
That should be a fun ride. It looks great.
Good guess Troy. I've edited classifieds if someone asks me, in the past. But, yes, I bought it. It will be a winter project car, probably ready to drive in the spring. I never owned a flared fender.

I spent 30 minutes in Fresno and had to go, my tires were melting. Fresno should be renamed to "Surface of Sun, CA"

Welcome to "The Fat A$$" club!
Theron: when you have time to plan dialog me, we can come up with some great flared ideas and still maintain a budget....well sorta
BTW no one has built a Harley Davidson themed speedy and we know HD folks will even buy anything with Harley theme even a commode.
Yeah, you could get a piece of styrofoam and write "Harley Davidson" on it with a magic marker and sell it for like $20.
At "Bike Week," anyways.

And really Alan, let's hope no one ever does...
