So, about 2 years ago I thought about selling it (as Stan knows) but I have it in my mom garage so I really don't drive it much. I have moved into a house with only one gar so I'm feeling the pain. Anyway, you all know CMC is now part of Street Beasts so I think you can still get parts.

Additional pics and detailed information will help in figuring what it is worth ~Alan

I tied to take pics of all the negative stuff: chipped fiberglass from top of door shutting on targa top, cracked gasket on mirrors, ect. Also, not sure why but the gauges are off just a little. It's only the 1600cc motor but it was rebuilt a few years ago. A few years before that put a new starter and alternator on it. Got a replacement top from Street beasts two years ago also but the windows are not installed (I do have them)
What else should I list?

Yes it's an older CMC / FiberFab speedster..I'll spell it out in hopes that you don't feel I'm kicking it apart but putting a value on it in it's current condition.
Interior is the older styling ( the screws through the dash trim was a poor decision by a previous owner) the misc body issues will mean a repaint. The 1600cc motor is a negative too.
FYI...A nice clean CMC speedster has a value of between $12.5 and $15k. Your speedster in it's present condition should bring around $9,200 + -.....Hope this will guide you . ~Alan
Greg and others may chime in here also ~

Drclock knows of what he speaks! He's bought/built/sold about 300 of these vehicles (of various manufacture). Priced right, you shouldn't have much trouble selling your car.
Pictures of interior and dash would be helpful (oops didn't scan down enough) as would be condition of tires (tread left and age). Nice classic color though with basics - issues are relatively minor (even sagging but causing door gaps) and someone could drive it all summer and do a winter rehab all at once or over time. eBay with reserve and avoid scammers would be way to go - can always relist with lower reserve later. Or hold til economy picks up in 2012.
thanks all for the quick responses
Classic case of CMC back end droop.
I like the car and agree with Alan, I regret the fact that I am cash poor......By the way, I nearly bot a car much like this one from "Dr. Clock" I was prudent with the cash at the time (I was Cheap!) To this day I still regret not buying it.
Good luck...you will find a suitable buyer

John, don't feel to bad, everything is in the crapper right now...
Uh huh, I have hauled one truck load of cars in the last nine days ...crappy doesn't quite cover it ~

If it turns out I cant sell it I'll just hold onto it like Wolfgang said and try again next year. Luck for me it's paid off and insurance is cheap.
Thanks again all for your help and comments.

Do a search on fixing the CMC Butt sag issue - it's an easy fix and will solve the door gap issue and give exhaust more clearance too. As it is now it will scare off alot of newbie potential buyers.
You can fix the droop in under 2 hours with some bolts, nylocks, washers and adhesive....do a search to see previous posts on this fix
Another car with tiers.
thanks for the info on the 'Butt sag'
