I am dropping the price on this car to $13900. I have a bunch of extra pics, please email for details to capnmrgn@aol.com

This car is a real head turner. Paint is great, interior great- I removed the tiny CMC buckets and replaced with Miata seats, much better for my 6'2" 280 pound frame. I have the original seats and they will go with the car, though. Runs great- a few quirks with the tach and oil temp gauge, but altogether a great car. Dual Weber 48IDF carbs, engine is clean and has been completely tuned and adjusted by a VW aircooled specialist here in the area. We also removed CMC's hideaway exhaust and replaced with a Monza type dual twin tip exhaust, sounds awesome. 11800 some miles on the odometer, built on a 1969 chassis. I have a bunch of pictures of the underside, so email for more. I will answer any other questions you might have if I can- but I am not a motor head so don't have a lot of specifics.

1600cc. When I bought this car, I had a local mechanic go through top to bottom, he adjusted the valves, did some carb work and ran a compression test, which came out good. He did mention that the car has Weber 48IDF's, but really should have 40's. I had an ad on Samba to swap my 48's for 40's and had a zillion replies- but honestly just haven't had time to take care of it. I figure that the car had a larger engine at one time, and a new owner may want to put a bigger block in, so I left the dual Weber 48's alone. It runs great as is- just a little rich.
I have a set of 40s that I am having rebuilt to the 44s. (A $160 upgrade if I go through with it.) If you want to swap, I'll have them completely rebuilt and maintained as 40s. Give you a guarantee that they are good/perfect and have them in a box to you on Monday. (They are already at the shop ready for rebuild and upgrade kits.) I am building a 1914 w/ported heads, so I'd love 48s. Yes, 48s blow raw gas, but at 6,000 rpm, they are perfect. Let me know soon to stop my upgrade kit from CB performance, which ships next week.

Dropping to $12900........... this will go at some point. I can re-install the original seats if a potential buyer is interested. Look- I know the roll bar doesn't look the best, and most purists don't like the wide fender style- but this is really a painless entry into the whole hobby. This car is turnkey- no problems, and at half the price of most other cars for sale, a nice clean daily driver.
Fred - Why don't you ride up to Carlisle with Lane and the others. Seriously, I had cash in hand when I visited last year and I have no doubt lots of folks will be looking this year as well. There is no better place to stir the impulse buying bug than a show with lots of cars. Look what happened to Vince! By the way, If you do decide to make the trip, you may also want to reserve a one way plane ticket back to Charleston out of Harrisburg - or hitch a return ride with someone else in the caravan. Your car is bound to sell - and you'll have a great time to boot!
