Hey Guys

im in the process of mounting the windscreen and the frame that came with my cmc doesn't fit the glass worth anything. seems the center is low and the top sides are high. the frame doesn't seem to bend worth anything.

Is the frame VS sell any better?

Thanks Guys!

Of the 4 sets of windshields/hardware I have had on 4 different cars, none of the windshield frames fit "well". Careful adjustments of the various pieces needs to be done, with the frame off the glass. In your case I would attempt to "reform" the frame over my knee, a bit at a time, with test fits of the frame to glass with the rubber pieces installed, untll a non binding fit is achieved. I am working on one now that was improperly installed in the past, has the 4 holes drilled in the wrong places for the brackets themselves...trial and error fitting, don't force the fit or you will need a new glass part...they crack pretty easily if forced into a frame.....
Geez, Leon! None of the ones I've messed with looked as bad as that!

Fortunately, fiberglass is a very forgiving medium, so good luck with the repairs.

I've also never seen a CMC top frame that was close to fitting the curves of the glass. I've used a variety of body parts to get the bends right; one knee, two knees, belly, chest, top of the shoulders - whatever it takes. Have even made up some plywood jigs, but ended up going back to the belly or chest. (additional padding helps - remember that.)

Just remember two things:

1. Take it very slowly - it's much easier to bend a few more times and zone in on it than to over bend and try to get it back and;

2. You are not alone......Everyone who's built a CMC has gone through this.
