NOT MINE - 50 miles away in Perdito Key (Pensacola). Pictures probably make it look worse than it really is. Hard top. $12,500.

You first, I've got my own problems.
Ice Head Special!!
actually...it looks better in the photos than it is...pretty sure!
Even if it runs well, I see only $5,000.00 sitting there..... WHOLE LOT OF WORK NEEDED.....
I guess I'm missing a gene or something, but I just don't get projects like this at all, for anything close to that price.
If you were in Pensacola (or 30 miles away in Alabama) for $3000 less than the asking price you could have this - supposedly in good driving shape, WITH an engine, six-speed, nice interior, air, and all ready to go.
Maybe the Miata ain't your cup o' tea, but it should put some perspective on what that project is really worth.
I think that for some people the ability to say "I built that" is at least as important to overall satisfaction as the car's capabilities.
Lane, As I mature I have found that I just settle for "I fixed it."
Wolfgang:
I love your optimism. I have found it more common for the pictures to make cars look better than they are. I hope you are correct.
I hear ya, Bob. Here lately I get the most pleasure from saying "I drove it."
Mitch -I confess I did break down and purchased a '16 MX-3 ---crystal pearl white with blk leather and red stitching with 6 speed manual. I do plan to finish the Speedie --- one day (and the Dauphine Mod-T beach buggy).
Greg's MX is very nice!
WOLFGANG posted:...I confess I did break down and purchased a '16 MX-3 ...
Greg, this could be a real test of moral fiber and inner strength.
Will you go out to the garage and choose to jump in and drive or crawl under and wrench? Immediate gratification or pain and suffering for long-term rewards?
Or maybe just move the Speedster to the living room, forget about ever finishing it, and tell people it's sculpture.
some people pay big money for that look...
Wolfgang has a couple of cars to finish and a large facility hidden away in the remote town of Baker in which to complete his evil work. I have heard from another SOCer that he may be obtaining a nice lift to make his machinations easier.
A lift means no excuses!

Or, he'll continue to make excuses so he can continue to obtain every piece of mechanical equipment a guy could ever want. Then when he obtains it all, he'll finish the car.
Just saying.
Beauty, Greg.
I still say you would look better standing next to that Yellow 987.
Just saying
Robert M:
Just because you claim not to be a Poopie Head doesn't necessarily make it true. You are under constant evaluation here.
Tom: You have to be careful around BobG. He likes to joke a lot, which I assume is what he is doing with his Poopie Head post.
Besides, there are just too many Bobs on this site.
What about Bob ?
Bob who?
My last post was in response to Robert M's new handle. See his post above. It is an ongoing joke prompted by something Stan posted.
Sorry, I thought it was directed at me.
My apologies, BobG.
No, I apologize. I didn't mean to leave the wrong impression or insult anybody. Poopie Head has, in a weird way become a term of endearment over the last week or so.
Ray:
People have been asking "What about Bob?" my entire life, and I simply have no excuses.
Bob my mother always said to us we had to learn to laugh a bit at ourselves ... Glad your able to do that .
Orherwise we might think your ISP is at lanta
Baaaaaaaaa
Thanks, Ray. Funny.
