I just saw this listing for a CMC widebody and haven't heard too much of the build quality. Craigslist Link. I sent an email and this is the info I received.
So it is a CMC (classic motor carriages) body. It was built by an old car guy who built several kit cars. The engine and transmission were new/rebuilt. The car now has about 15k miles. We’ve enjoyed about 8k of them. I bought it from a guy who bought from the original builders estate sale.
I personally have built close to 300 plus engines and was excited to find Strictly Foreign built this one. Serviced ( oil change, valve adjust etc.) less than 2k miles ago. I would have no qualms jumping in this car and driving it anywhere.
Flaws.... There is a hairline crack on the far edge of the passenger side windshield, no big whoop. And the carpet kit could use a “tune up”. Otherwise the vert top is in perfect shape ( as well as the window curtains) as well as the tonneau cover.
This is a REALLY fun car, and can think of no major “defects” per se.
Any thoughts/concerns since a "old car guy" built it and it has above average miles?
