cnc banjo steering wheel development

I'm thinking about making a new modern(but classic) interpretation or reproduction of a banjo wheel using billet aluminum and a cnc machine, I need some straight shots and measurements, can someone help? or perhaps I can buy a real one so I can vectorize measurements

Which banjo wheel are you interested in? I've seen the Pre-A 3-spoke banjo made by VDM, now being reproduced by Flat-4. Petri also made a 3-spoke "pealit" banjo back in the early 50s & of course the 356-A/B VDM banjo shown below

Whoops, forgot that Petri also made another banjo as shown below.

Is it possible to get a banjo wheel that you can play a few tunes on? That would be nice....

Yes the 3 spoke banjo is the one that appeals to me, I don't know if is the most desirable, but is the one I like, do you have some specs's

The Flat-4 banjo wheel was first manufactured by VDM for the Pre-A Porsche 356 era cars. Here's a 3-spoke Banjo wheel known as the "pealit" made by Petri in the early 50s.

I'll take some images this weekend and do some measuring if you wish. I have to remove it to do some work so I'll get some measurements.

Bob, I think you should make it your mission to get one of those tune playing banjo wheels installed on your IM in time for Carlisle. That way, if the Sam Adams, Moosehead, two-fers or Tellico Tea doesn't put us to sleep, you can be the backup plan. Lul-a-bye.....

The Flat 4 wheel is very much like the steering wheel used on some 1949 to 1952 356s, it's diameter is smaller than the true eary wheel.

Im, not sure of the exzact size, but Im sure someone here knows the spec's .

This one has been covered before.

The reproduction Flat-4 banjo wheel is 15" in diameter I believe. The original VDM wheels were available in 400mm & 420mm

Here's the banjo wheel I really wanted. I tried to bargain with this kid, but he couldn't see my point of view. I offered him a brand new pen knife, but there was too much squealing in the background to talk. And then this brand new Silver IM Speedster came along, blowing tons of hot air out of the interior, with fancy flaming Cadillac taillights on it, so I left. Or was I dreaming....???

Yes Im trying to reproduce the 3 spoke banjo but I want to have a porsche or speedster emblem sanblasted/etched on the center and the ring to be all aluminum instead of cheapy looking foam
