Speedsters are so open (even with the top and side curtains on) that they're vulnerable to bugs and other creatures making their way in and using them as a home. Any of you had any problems of that sort? What would be an effective way of preventing it? Of course, let's just start by saying that I don't eat or let anyone eat in the car.

if i leave my cars open in the driveway under the trees I sometimes get spiders=don't like em.
but i have restored many a forgotten car/motorcycle and have found numerous critters in
aircleaners, head light buckets etc... once after putting an old mgb back on the road i hit a bump and had a mouse(dead) drop from the heater onto my throttle foot=surprise.
Great post!

I would imagine that in warmer or humid climates, cockroaches, palmetto bugs and the like would become a real problem.

Here in the North East, especially in the sandy soil coastal towns it ants. EVERY Summer driver that I've ever owned has been invaded by ants.

The '55 Coupe had it's headliner destroyed last Winter by mice, and I just found the makings of a new mouse nest beginning in the glove box of the "new" SC Coupe.

Of course, any VW engine is bound to attract mice and various bugs in the exhaust, just because of it's construction. If you're storing a 356 for the Winter, tape up the exhaust outlets.
