Hi- not sure who's car this is, but would really like to know the name of the color. I believe this is a JPS build but I supposed Vintage could replicate this color.....right?

As I get closer to ordering my car I'm really struggling with choosing an exterior color.  I know I want a dark brown-  tobacco color interior- so was thinking about black, but also like this color and a few others. Not sure how I'm going to decide....but I supposed these are good problems to have. IMG_0118

I have a BLACK car which looks MAGNIFICENT when freshly washed.....but shows every freakin fingerprint and spec of dirt. It is very RICH looking if the paint is well done AND I had the CERAMIC PRO sealant done to it so I NEVER need to wax....just wash and water ROLLS off. "BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL" but be careful of what you wish for! It takes me 10 minutes to wash and I use a BLOWER to blow off the water and chamois dry...done in 20 minutes!MI61IM FOG1

Looks fantastic - nearly all my cars have been black and I'm a fan - even though cleaning is a challenge, a clean black car always looks great! Just think I might try something more unique- for me anyway.

Regardless of the color I choose I'll definitely do the Ceramic Sealant. Just did some reading on it and looks well worth it.

I did a lot of research and there are 3 or 4 different sealant companies. I checked YELP and also Ferrari/LAMBO dealers and the key is the PERFECTION of whomever is doing the procedure as  the expert process is the key. ABSOLUTE cleanliness is needed and takes days to CURE....the guys I use are DETAIL SPECIALISTS and have a SEPARATE CLOSED ROOM for applying/curing the sealant so that dust in the air does NOT circulate and contaminate the multiple layers of sealant. Many claim to use it and many do...but MOST do NOT do it EXPERTLY.....the key is METICULOUS FANATICS

Check the facility and find out WHO seals the LAMBOS/BUGATTIS/FERRARIS/etc....

As everyone has been saying, that's Slate Gray. If I'm not mistaken, the leather was a color called "Maple", but I'm not sure on who's chart (or why, since it's much closer to "Mahogany"). I don't think a dark brown interior would look very good with this color, but I am a middle aged heterosexual dude, so what do I know?

That was John Leader's second JPS, built in 2004/2005, driven for a year or so, then sold into Europe. It was built in no small part to shut up George Brown's incessant prattling regarding his feelings about any car npt built by Intermeccanica.

It was, is, and probably always will be the high water mark for a JPS build. Crazy, stupid cool. 2332 with a 911 shroud, aluminum deck-lid with polished louvers, etc. The paint was fantastic.

I'm 100% sure VS can build one in that color, as there have been about a dozen copies of it since then.

Thanks Stan. Unfortunately I agree with you that perhaps a dark brown and that grey don't go well together. My trouble is I like two colors that don't match - as my wife succinctly pointed out to me. Leaning back toward black I guess. Just not a fan of any shade of red interior. Also like the sea-foamish green-ish but not sure I'd be happy long term with that color.

My wife the other day said - "it's your car, do what you want". We all know that's a trap!

Don't fall for that. My wife constantly tells me she doesn't have an opinion on stuff I'm doing until I'm done and she says, "Yea, I don't like that.".

Do like parents do with their kids when getting them dressed. Find a couple combinations you like and would enjoy having for several years and let her choose which one goes on the car.

Right. There was a lot of talk on this thread about the ceramic coating, which is very expensive. I was wondering if anyone has tried the much less expensive Top Coat product.

PLEASE look into the SCIENCE behind the product....after to speaking with a number of Ferrari/LAMBO/McLaren owners...I was heavily steered towards CERAMIC PRO...but best of luck with whichever PRODUCT/PROCESS you choose

I am new around here and waiting to join once I get my Speedster, however I can add to this topic. I currently have Ceramic Pro on my 87 911 and 2013 981 Boxster. It is a great product and gives you that just waxed look after a simple bucket wash. Keeps the paint protected from the elements and light scratches. I have had it on both cars for a couple of years and it looks just as good as the day after it was applied.

The main thing with it as with most things is all the effort goes into the prep work. If you don't get a good paint correction done beforehand and then apply the ceramic coating over swirl marks and scratches they will still be there. So if you can find an installer and see some his work prior to having it done. I ended up paying around 1500 bucks for each of my cars in the Houston area.

EXACTLY my experience...a GREAT PRODUCT...you have quite the collection

Is the ceramic seal beneficial on lighter colors, giving that nice pop as on James' rich blue Porsches? And Banzai's beautiful black?

Beautiful cars James & Banzai.

We have an old Camaro coming up for paint (over the winter), and it will be painted black as original. A great time to research! Our to be replica Coupe will be a mid dark metallic silver.

IMG_0913IMG_0914$1500 seems a little steep but if the warranty is legit and the place is still in business I guess  it has some value.

I know a guy who knows a guy that accidentally found a three-quarter filled bottle of glass coat (Simonize product at a dealer).  It accidentally found its way into my garage.   I tested it on the 2004 BMW. I had zero experience  but it came  out pretty good.  Next time I'll apply more product.   This car sat in  Florida sun for over six months.  Paint still looks  very good.  Total cost was a microfiber towel  and one applicator.
