Are you an Interior Designer, Esther?
Yes, but only for my closest friends and family...
Beautiful fall day. I went for a ride on the Hog today. Found myself at my local dealership to look over the new 07's. I think I found my color(colors)? Harley paint schemes have come along way, since they have their own custom paint shop. As some of you know Ive been between a traditional Red, or Nassau corvette blue/ porsche azzura blue, in the light blue/silver family. I saw a color on a Ultra that blew me away. Either FIRE RED PEARL a stunning deep in your face red pearl metallic, or SUEDE BLUE PEARL, almost a translucent deep, silver blue pearl, lighter than the other blues, both are gorgeous, rich, and in your face. It also ties the IM speedster to my other passion...... Both bikes were indoors, I want to see them in sunlight. What may be great on a bike, could be blinding on a car. Fun, fun, fun

Suede Blue Pearl. That just sounds SEXY Howard! This summer at a p-car meeting there was a 356 coupe parked next to us. It was painted white pearl. I could not believe how good that curvy little car looked in a pearl paint. It was absolutely gorgeous.

Angela , as much as I go back and forth, I keep saying this car "should" be red, some on this site are beautiful. But red is...well red, everyones got one, red porsches are pretty common where I live. This suede blue pearl is so deep and rich, truly stunning. We'll see. I'll get the shoes to match!

Howard. I have a gallery of 59 Ds up on a page that you may want to look at. I have them up for another purpose, but since you seem to be leaning towards blue this gallery may be of interest since it has several P-car variations on blue, all appear to be 356 P paint, except maybe the one 911 paint (you'll see it.) There are two blues that are close to that early vette blue you like... I think Angela has listed it in the above threads.
Anyway, it's easier to pick paint when you see it on a car than looking at chips. For a good site with all the 356 colors look up Wilhoites restorations.. they have all the 356 color chips up and will shoot you a sample for a small fee. I'll look up the link later. Their gallery of restos and cars in progress is usally a treat to check out. That's just an opinion, add it to your growing file.... ;-)
Another site that has good quality pics of P cars for color selection use is the 59 D Registry site. Look under the Registry tab for the best pics. Again, I'll look up a link later. The link Justin provided of the ECH 2007 meet has a few blue cars... as does the 2005 meet.
Everyone has an opinion about paint... my 2 cents is that with the Hellas and other detail items you are putting on your build, I would stick with a 356 color... no mixed signals. Year correct isn't something I think about as my reasoning, but because, well, those old paints have a thick, and beautiful retro look.
Here's the gallery: http://www.dubudee.com/ I'll try and gather up some blue Speedster pics I have on CD and send them your way. This gallery will be up for a couple more days, so copy any that you may be interested in (or not, lol).

Ralph Lackner has a sharp IM Speedster in a yellow that matches the paint he on a 356 Carrera Coupe. Black Seats with yellow piping, a very nice appearing car...

A little progress on my end. 2003 dark silver mini cooper/bmw color. Just finished, not even
buffed yet. Not shown in the pic is a center mounted exhaust cutout and the dash will be filled shortly for a three gauge cluster(Thanks Brian).

Gorgeous! Bruce, that's absolutely perfect!
Jim, Its good to hear from you. Now I know what Dale went through. There are so many decisions to make about how I would like this to come together. I got back the radio from Electro-tech the other day. Ive got a number of little items that I would like to use, to keep the original flavor. Your horn button, original?, did Henry source it? Ive seen some really bad repro. As I said its the little things.... Drivetrain is enroute as I write this.Everytime I look at your car I change my mind to Red. GB's car was well done, Dale's , Dan's ...etc. Cant wait to start posting my East Coast photo ops. Please keep in touch, as I have a ton of questionsnow that Im getting close to nailing down design specs.
Bruce, it's looking really good. Specifically which exhaust have you decided upon?
As you know, I've just gotten my project back from painting (off-white, '06 Chrysler "cool vanilla"). I now have all exterior parts installed except the windshield and side moulding. Next steps are new pedals, cables, wiring harness, gauges, brake lines, gas tank & lines, floors, and interior.
Does anyone have pictures of nerf bars on a non-flared Speedster? I'm considering a front set of nerfs with a cross piece to support the front license plate (pretty much a MUST in N.J.).

Brian, Ive run my Alfa spider w/o a front plate in NJ. No on has ever bothered me about it. Good luck with your project. Someday. we'll get the NJ contingent together for some fun.

I've paid many a ticket for no front plate in the past(and even a bench warrant for my arrest because I forgot to pay one, the man is not your friend!). I bought a 3 x 6 inch stainless oval that will be connected to the outlet of;
Plan A.=Turbo outlet
Plan B.=whatever header/glasspack thats installed till the turbo goes set up goes in
