It is difficult gaining confidence when trying to assess a car from another country but the insight Kevin has provided has been invaluable.

Hi Guys,

We have been having a great time on our US holiday. There have been so many highlights but special ‘speedster related’ mentions for Peterson Museum’s Porsche exhibition and a brief visit to Vintage Motorcars to check out Greg’s operation for a quick speedster “fix” (thanks Greg @VSpyder for taking time out of your busy day).

We had a fantastic morning in Monument Valley yesterday and have rafting on the Colorado planned for this afternoon.

We'll be spending 3-4 days early next week in Yosemite before heading up to Sacramento by Friday.

I'm hoping some of you SOC’ers in the Sacramento area may be about for a catch-up either Friday evening or Saturday morning. I know you guys recently held your Tour D’Hoe event (loved the video Ryan) so you may not be up for a cruise but even a quick “meet & greet” (with your speedsters 😁) would be great.

Terry, i know you have a big weekend scheduled, all the best with that.

I'll keep an eye on this thread and hopefully some of you will be available.

 What is the exact date you will be in Sacramento?

Yes, that might help :-). We will be arriving in Sacramento on the afternoon/evening of the 11^th October and need to head off to San Francisco by lunchtime Saturday 13^th October.

I know it’s a relatively small window and will understand if people aren’t available but just in case there’s a chance of meeting a few SOC’ers I thought I would throw it out there.

 I am out of town all day up in Yuba City California on October 12, so Saturday morning before you leave us about the only time I’ll be able to show you my Speedster.

Hi Sacramento SOC’ers,

We just arrived in Sacramento this afternoon after a few days in Yosemite NP. What a beautiful place!

Really enjoyed the drive up the 49 through Jamestown, Angels Camp, San Andreas and Jackson. You have some great countryside to drive your speedsters in this part of the country!! The occasional spot even reminded us of back home in Australia.

Anyway, just wanted to put it out there that we are planning to head over to the Folsom Cars & Coffee this Saturday morning just in case any of you were interested in meeting and bringing your speedsters along. It will be my last chance to catch up with any SOC’ers before flying out of San Francisco this coming Monday.

i normally go but im flying out at 5:25 am to see my sis on the chesapeake bay. good turnouts usually,odd asst of vehicles..

 It was very nice to meet you today at the Folsom Cars and Coffee event.  I’m glad you got to drive my car around the parking lot to get a little bit of a feel of a Porsche 912 powered fiberglass Speedster. I’m sorry I had to leave right at 8:30 am and didn’t get to say goodbye again to you and your family so I hope you have a very good & safe trip back home to Australia.  My wife and I are now thinking of spending our 50th anniversary with our friends in Kings Beach Queensland next August and if we do, we of course would want to come visit you too!  And as we talked about, I will give you special deal on my Speedster ! 😊

Thanks so much  the heads-up regarding Canepa. I took a look at some of the photos of previous events and they have amazing cars attending!!

Unfortunately we fly out tomorrow so I'll have to add it to the list for next time (could be a few years :-(

The family and I had a great time at Folsom C&C yesterday. So many amazing cars, especially for a relatively casual gathering. Sacramento certainly has an active car community!!
