Hello, I am new to "the madness". I have a 2007 4S 911 cabriolet and have been considering buying a replica speedster for some time. Do any of you know of this car that I found on thesamba.com? I spoke to the person who placed the ad. He is the mechanic who assembled the car. He is selling it for the owner. He put me in touch with the owner and we had a discussion that mainly dealt with the logistics of arranging a test drive. Any comments/suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, in advance.

I sold that car as a kit to Chris Radbill of Radbill Automotive and Restoration.  I saw it once after it was built and it seemed to be very well done.  IIRC it had a 912 motor at that time, although the ad says it has a new CB 1915, so not sure what happened there?  May be my bad memory.

I have used Chris for warranty work, and he has built a few our our cars from the Deluxe Body Package (kit) stage. I have several clients that use Chris for their regular maintenance as well.  I haven't heard any complaints.

04/05 was a changeover year for several items, including turn signal unit and wiring harness, so I'm not sure if this one has the old style or new style.

If you are in PA then having it already PA registered and inspected is a big plus.  PA has become one of the tougher states to register component vehicles, with a lot of "hoops" to jump through in order to do so.

If you are not in PA, be sure to find out how it is titled (year/make) to make sure it will be a smooth title transfer into your home state.

Thank you for your insight. Very helpful. I will be inspecting and test driving the car this weekend. I will ask Cris about the turn signal unit and wiring harness. When I spoke to him, my impression was that the CB 1915 was the original engine that he installed but not certain about this. Thanks again for your considerable help with this.

Yeah, thanks. She's my baby. I will be retiring in a few years myself. So, I thought the speedster should be next.

I inspected and test drove the 2004 Beck last evening. I liked it...great shape.  I need to do some work on my wife though, she is worried that it is unsafe. Also, I have to decide if I want to sell my 911 cab in order to purchase the speedster. That, too, is part of the deal with my wife!!

Love your boat man!!!  Next to a speedster thats the sexiest thing around. Kinda like a retirement dream for me!
