I have a 2006 SAS Speedster that I am considering selling. It has a 2.5 Liter Subaru Boxer engine and has about 5800 miles on it and it's located in Colorado. If anyone has an interest, please feel free to contact me. I don't have a specific price in mind and will entertain suggestions/offers. Thanks.

Bob, You might want to watch the progress of the SAS 1957 Porsche Cabriolet replica on eBay. So far, the bidding seems to be moving along nicely. To my knowledge, this is the first time that two SAS replicas have been up for sale at the same time.
You might also try to get a copy of Steve's waiting list....
Thanks ... Great advice. I was surprised to see another.

Since GERD seems to be speechless (rare), I believe it has 165 HP with a 5-speed stick. And, no waiting ..... :-)

I AM SPEECHLESS. I HAVE SEEN A SAS CAR BOTH IN HAWAII AND SANTA BARBARA AND BOTH ARE BEAUTIFUL.
CONSIDERING THE WAIT TIME TO GET ONE I AM SURPRISED THAT THERE ARE TWO UP FOR SALE AND WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE AFTER 5 YEARS.

I am speechless reading that Gerd is speechless, I've never known that to happen.....
GERD, It is rare for two SAS cars to become available at the same time. The Cabriolet that just sold came available as a result of the death of its original owner who had owned it for 7 years. His car was part of his estate and was sold by the executor to another party who marketed the car. The car was resold at a very nice price.
The Speedster that was mentioned in the forum classifieds was made available as a result of a divorce settlement and once again made available for resale. There have been some private inquiries on this car as well. I suspect it will go quickly.

Charles:
Was the Cabriolet from the Boston area?

Gordon, Yes, it was stabled in the Boston area. We have usually referred to this car as the Bill Re car. Bill ran into a snow bank a few years ago and SAS had to undo some botched fiberglass repair. I seem to recall that SAS put a newer and more powerful Subaru engine into the car at the same time.
This is a very early SAS mid-engine example and was the inspiration for a couple of subsequent buyers.
After the car appeared on eBay recently, there was a flurry of buyers seeking to do the 'buy now' thing after learning of its availability. Unfortunately, it disappeared suddenly over this past weekend after having sold.
There have been a least two serious inquiries on the silver/red SAS Speedster in CO (shown above), so we are waiting to see what the seller wishes to do. I think we have learned that people hate to wait! :-)
