Let's see pictures of your "slammed 23 window".
CMC tops, just like the original Speedsters, just had a simple frame with the two bows and a canvas covering. They didn't have a full framed top like some of the newer replicas.
Check with Vintage Speedsters. They sell all the parts you need, I am not sure about the fit though. Give them a call they can help you out.
If you email me at: speedstahguy at gmail.com I can send you a complete set of illustrated instructions for installing a VS Stayfast top onto your CMC. I haven't looked at it lately, but I think it includes how to make the side windows, too.
Since you already have the header and the top bows, everything else you'll need you can get from Vintage Speedsters in California.
If you donate to SOC you can download CMC build manual. There are 2 (one either side) flip-type tensioners made from angle iron (easy to fab if you don't them). Plus you need the header to windshield clips(2) - some add a third to prevent leaks in center.
I've had good dealings with Klasse356 for the gold emblems. Yup you get to bend the front one for the nose. Drilling the holes for the pins is a pain.

RE the Porsche script: Make a template out of a file folder, thin enough to cut, stiff enough to hold the shape, cover the area with blue masking tape on the car, tape the template in place and step way back to eyeball placement, then drill your holes.
Mentioned before to run drill in reverse to cut thru outer gel coat so you don't chip it.
While I have everyone's attention on the top subject...I am having a new top installed on my Beck this winter by Carey. He tells me the old is virtually useless ( and I can understand the issues with snaps already installed). I have offered this to "Slammed" here if he thinks he could make it work. Any of you guys have an opinion on whether a second hand top ( with snaps attached) is a real possibility? BECK to CMC?

I think it's a matter of perspective.
When you need one, any top is better than no top. If it's a free kind of deal (just pay for shipping) - it's worth a shot. I mean, if you know going into it that the likely hood of the snaps matching up is slim, and you only pay 30.00 for shipping - you take the risk and buy it. You walk away thankful for a stop gap solution. Am I right?

Slammed23Window is down here in Orlando, FL so it should be a true emergency top. No picture of his car so not known if snaps are already in fiberglass. If not (or he plans repaint) he just drills them to match Rich's top. The only other concern is windshield placement. New tops have extra material that gets cut off once glued to the header bow - so there is risk there that it could be too short. Being Beck on to CMC is risk but for shipping - NO real risk at all. I'd go for it. Rich is a truely stand up SOC member! (I'm buttering him up in case he wants to come south to Fl and help complete my car. It will be 65 degrees tomorrow - after couple days of only 20 low).
Assume they won't and base your decision on that.

Wolfgang! You'd think you were getting the top! I wish I were so footloose and I'd be on that offer. Of course I would be absolutely no help with you finishing your car, but sure would enjoy watching you work while I got all sun burned
Remember that the Beck top attaches differently, but it can made to be removable and use snaps. Also, all Beck tops are made to fit high-bow frames, while most CMCs I've seen have low-bow frames.
