Cory,

The stripes, details, look, stance, are ALL what you ought to be shooting for.

Sophisticated, tough, race-ready, elegant, clean, and crisp. Not a trace of toy-town, no stupid flying canine stickers, just simple perfection.

Oh. and while I have everyone's attention (rather than waste a second post) has anyone run into a gauge with a chromed bezel that's around the same diameter as the ones used in the Speedsters? I grabbed up a set of gauges from an Audi Fox. They're green faced and look almost exactly like the original 356 gauges. with a little work and a chromed bezel, I think that they'll fool the average bear. Just looking for a substiture bezel that'll fit since they came originally fit to the back side of a dash plate, without any bezels at all.

Any help? Anyone come across anything that might fit? MGs are too small, Ghias are too large, Beetles are almost the same size as 914 Tachs, WAY too big for the speedo and combination gauges.

Thanks ! !

T.C. I don't know the specific diameter you're looking for, but you might try www.haneline.com They make custom engine turned dash panels and they represent several different gauge manufacturers, including one that they have their own brandname on.
They have at least 3 or 4 different diameters, and offer black or chrome or stainless bezels. If you can tell them specific dimensions, and they have them, I'm sure they will sell just the bezels.
Their e-mail is "sales@haneline.com".
David, I really like the look of the turned dash panel. I opted for the Haneline multi-function gauges because they are a bit smaller than typical 356s and "fit" within my field of vision without being partly hidden by the wheel. If I ever decide to go for more "correct" gauges, I'm definately going to include a turned panel like yours. Not only looks good, but saves the time & trouble of refinishing the dash.
