Good Golly, Alan! I think you might need to tone down the meds a bit, huh?
I'll see you your dancing songs, and raise you a limerick:

A Speedster builder in P-A
had some high praise for me to-day
He said to me, "I want to see."
I said to him "oh-kay."
So off I flew, like a hammer true
to peen some flat metal shapes.

If the compartment contains the engine
and Maryland air is sent spinnin'
and cold is on top
and hot it is not
then Friday, Sir, I shall see you.

The Wrench did observe
and did I concur
there are parts which've been mushed.
The 'justment's been made,
reducing the play
between parts chapped yes-ter-day.

Bushings've been set,
Torsion's been let
'n the steering's been finely tuned.
All that remains
Apart from the rains,
is to pick out some road-worthy tunes.

Yeah! You Tube it! My mom just gave me a video camera that is too complicated for her to figure out how to use. So I'll give it to my 14 year old daughter for a couple of hours, then have HER show me how it works!

There's a road near here that I'd like to run the spyder up while video-ing (mounting the camera, not holding it...). Its called "Dead Indian Memorial Road." We took some speedstah guys and gals up it during the last SOT run. Fun twisty climbing road with mostly no guardrails and a drop off long enough for you to die of fright before you hit the bottom. Obviously I intend to avoid that particular activity...

Angela - can't wait to see THAT video! Maybe you can throw in some "Drifting" action on some of those curves!

BTW - with the recent shift in the legislative branch (post election), I suspect that it won't be long before they change the name of that road (Dead Indian Memorial Road) to the more policitally correct "In-Animate Native American Memorial Road" or your suggestion of "Life-Challenged Native Memorial Road". LOL!!
You'll need something like this:
http://www.clamperpod.com/
I'm not connected to those guys (standard disclaimer goes here), but I swear by my Clamperpod. Works on tanks, Humm-Vees and rifle stocks.
We'll see if it works on Hoopties. I just ordered the Clamperpod 2 -- it's got a curved bit for clamping to round stuff. I'll be able to put the camera on my roll bars.
Angela,
I drove that Dead Indian road last summer in my mother-in-laws Mercury Grand Marquis with two passengers aboard. It was memorable, for my restraint if nothing else (where the hell ARE the wheels on this thing?). Funny how you get used to guardrails here in southern Cal, and then suddenly they are gone and you get to thinking, HOLY CRAP that is steep! I think it is the sight lines being so different. Have had similar experiences on new roads while on a motorcycle.
Sorta like back east where you don't have fences between all the houses - the properties are the same - they just look real different.
On my first trip back east (two years ago when my co. hired me) the no fences between properties was the FIRST thing I noticed! I fell in love with that. Now I hate fences between the properties.

Dead Indian Memorial is a wonderful driver's road. Its also a kick in the rear on a bicycle provided the traffic is very light. The speedstah group liked it so much that we'll probably include it in next year's SOT along with a few other tasty bits for our friends.
