They function perfectly. There is however a void between the top of the window and the flap on the convertible top. When it rains, that void acts like a magnet drawing water into the interior of the car. The fix is relatively simple. Window needs to be adjusted to raise just a little bit higher when closed. I had to remove the door panels to replace the aero mirror gaskets anyway,so I figured while I was in there I would adjust the window stops to give me about an additional 3/8" of rise. Most likely, over the span of the 6 years since the car was built, there has been a little shrinkage to the convertible top.

Vince,you know all about shrinkage,right!
Finally ordered a hitch for the new daily driver, just in case. I have every intention of driving again this year, even if it rains!

Working on the spare tire relocation later today. Yesterday, figured out how to make the side curtains stay in and added a weatherstrip to seal the top header to the windshield. New tires are AWESOME, see the thread in engines/mechanical.
10-4, Good Buddies. I'm getting geared up. The Baron has been out and about recently, and seems to be running about right. Some sprucing up required, of course, and I'll attend to that.

Aaron, I hope the knee holds up well, and you can get up the road and on to Carlisle in good shape, possums and all. The good Master Chief Drake is just showing his ignorance of the finer things in life, having only seen possum as a roadside decoration, I'm betting. Despite snide comments to the contrary, I'm betting it tastes sorta like chicken. And so there, I have exposed my gross ignorance also. We'll see. Stands to be a very ed-u-kayshunal week end, culinariously speaking. Ever had an Egg Sammich? If you've never been to Carlisle, then the answer is NO. Might be real good made w/ possum . . . And don't spend too much time thinking about where those eggs actually came from.
Cory,

I'll have a beer with you! In my college days, we had a special wintertime treat chocolate covered Eskimo pies and a beer!
You always have to ask...how much more in my pocket book. Retire with that "time in grade" in mind.

Kelly,
Now you've got it right. Possum and "pickled ramps" are on the way. They'll add to the egg sammiches! Cory will "love'em" Made a trip to the saw bones Tuesday, I may have torn the stitches that where placed in the cut ligaments. Also, the knee cap has seated with a slight tilt to the right. Cortisone shot really helped get rid of the swelling and lube the joint. I'm a little pissed because the surgeon left out the grease fittings on both knees.

Lane,
I've lost 20+ pounds since the hospital stay. TO H--l with egg sammiches! I'll have to eat more possum! Better still STEAK!!

Just a note: Everyone will have to eat Ramps just to protect themselves.
Carey assured me a couple of months ago that I'll have the car. Just been November to now! Had my permission to be slow due to my knee implant. Now that I'm getting the healing goin' with the help of cortisone, I'm ready to roll. My concern is getting the Merlot to me from Bremen. Carey plans on getting a carrier. Using a carrier is less expensive than me traveling to Bremen and returning,

We'll make it!

The Lafer is just about ready. Low HP and speed might or would be problematic to me. The Beck would be more comfortably due to setting low on the floor with my knee slightly bent!
