"Long hoods" refer to the hood length, which were long for 911's from '63-'73, when they shortened the hood length for design purposes with the '74.
ROI = return on investment
ROF = return on fun
Sorry, long hoods started in 1964, so 64-73.

VW (and by extension now, Porsche) are very, very protective of trademarks. They hate unauthorized anything, and since the 911 (and the bus) are icons in their brand lexicon, I doubt we'll ever see it.
Still... I'd really, really love one.
