Does anyone have photos of the window roll-up mechanism of a coupe replica?
Sure would make my life easier if I could see how the window mech went together.
thanks

IM has a center post thqt rides up and down and the window follows the track and then squeezes against the rubber. coupes normally have a frame thqt it ride into.

I don't have a picture of the one in my Beck Coupe, but it was quite a bit different from Ray's Roadster setup. Maybe @chines1 can take a picture of one that hasn't yet been installed.
I'd look at a hot rod universal kit with electric motor.
Universal 2 Door Power Window Conversion Kit | Manual to Electric
THAT looks like what I had.
Check out Specialty Power Windows down in Texas. They may have what you need, info and otherwise.
What if Theron wants a manual crank, perish the thought?
Damn! I nevah thought-a that! 😉
I know Greg at VMC no longer uses the electric window lifts. He uses reconditioned VW bug manual regulators. I don't have a picture of one, but I'll bet they're pretty easy to find.
The IM photo and the universal lift mechanism photo are not exactly the same, but very similar. They do the same thing overall, you just can't see the rest of the drive cable in the IM photo. This is also the same as what we use in the coupe.
DO NOT use the cheap plastic kit that is linked from Speedway (and many others have it also). Our doors are too small and it puts too much stress on the plastic parts. They will not last. We tried them at first, and tried to modify them to be better, and then went with another set-up from Specialty Power Windows. The Specialty parts are all steel and 10x the quality. However they do not make a "kit" that fits our car, so they sell me a partial kit with the drive cable and housing uncut so we can fabricate those parts for an exact fit. Haven't had a single one of them fail yet.
I don't have any with door panels off, but will be building 2 sets in the coming weeks and can shoot pics.
