In order to pass the CO Vin Check and safety inspection I need working windshield wipers. My wipers were off the car for shipping. below is the type of wiper arm and blade...I  have not been able to find the blade...it is aprox. 9" long with a screw down attachement

Any idea where I can find some? All I've found are 13'' blades of the same style.(sorry for the poor quality of the photo...cheap camera)

I have a brand new VS top. How do the bows attach? I have this type of hardware that came with the top. I'm assuming these are for the bows. How to you install these pieces? Both have bent arms, again I assume these are rests for the bows? I have a sert nut on each side of the body behind the seats about 4" and I tested one of the bolts with "C" cup washer and it went right in.I'll have an upholstery shop do the installation but would like to have the hardware on beforehand so I know it is correct.

Also with the top in place do the tops tend to 'billow' up? My Cobra top did until I had a shop sew in Velcro for going around the bows that are attached from inside the car...that stopped the 'billowing'....it looks like the Cobra top bows are easier to install...the Cobra has a SS sleeve in the body side for the bows...there are two cotter less SS Clevis button pins that go thru both both bows into the sleeve...no need for wrenchs to fasten the bows.

Also does anyone make a side curtain that has sliding Plexiglass or Lexan windows?

G.R., The hardware you show is the part that pivots one of the bows to take the slack out so it doesn't billow. On my VS you press down the lever to raise the rear bow. My top is almost too tight and I have to pull up the lever as far as possible.

Not sure about the wipers. I walked into NAPA and they had 'em. You have to get lucky sometime.  Feeling a little "madder" yet?

Ok, if I've got this right the top hardware is made to tighten the top? If so that's good. How exactly do they attach? Any pictures?

"madder" Must be getting there

On my car, the part pictured is would be passenger side, and when you pull up on the lever, you raise the rear bow, and remove slack from the top. The center bow is attached to the end  bolt and just pivots.  I'm sure others are different. New (to me) computer and I can't post a picture yet, but there are others out there with direction.

Wolfgang, thank you for the pictures that helps a lot...I've not unfolded the top yet so didn't know there are built in sleeves for the bows, just removed the hardware from the box.

Bill and Gary, thanks for the link to CIP1...unfortunately they only show one blade in the right length, a flat one for a Thing for a bayonet arm like I have. The Bosch style blades in 9-10'' length they show are made for the shepards hook type arm. Tried all the parts stores around town, Advance, O'Reillys, AutoZone and no one has them and most of the clerks have no clue if it is not in their computer, so getting one of them to try and a order a pair is like pulling teeth...haven't yet made it to NAPA yet though they are pretty knowledgeable of all the auto stores around, so I'll try there...our last really good local parts store where the staff knew what was what, closed last year when the owner and his son retired, they had been in business for nearly 72 years. They were the 'go to' business as they really knew car/truck parts, if they did not have it in stock they'd order it and have it the next day for you...they did not just depend on their computers, if it wasn't listed they'd get out the parts books. Customer service ain't what it used to be...

Does the cup washer on the top/bow lever go flat to the body? I've seen a couple pictures of tops and some of them it looks like the cup washer is in front of the lever where the bow goes...Confused???

VS has no info on their tops installation that I could find...not real important for me right now as I'm still awaiting delivery of the new windshield from VS...yet I'd still like to get the hardware mounted correctly before later taking it to a pro upholstery shop to have the top installed...I do not have the correct tools or know how to do upholstery work, especially rag top installation...do not even want to attempt it...I know my limits

Now you've got me thinking, Greg........

Back in the 1990's, when I visited the Vintage Speedsters InterGalactic Headquarters, Capt. Kirk told me they use something very common and from a different application for those domed washers, but it's not coming to me now - I'll cogitate on it and try to remember.  I know that's what I eventually used, too, so maybe going out there will jog my memory.

Something way back in there is whispering "Ford Valve Spring Washer" but I'll have to see one to be sure.

They have wiper arms that have a screw holding them dowm, also blades to fit. A bit expensive. The only place I could find screw down wiper arms. I bought six sets because my car hates wiper blades and flings them off every chance it gets.

Nolan, thanks for reminding me about Finishline...it is where I get some of the parts/pieces for the Cobra...I have the Superformance type wiper arms w/shepherds hook on it now...I replaced the old ones with the bayonet mount several years ago and forgot Finishline carried both types of blades.

Gordon the washer I have does resemble a valve spring washer...and it just fits the bolt.
