Wow, it must be my lucky day.  I had a set of tires listed for $200 on Clist and just received a check for $1,500 with instructions to give the balance to the shipper when he comes to pick them up.  It's almost like I'm printing free money!  I'm thinking of investing the extra money with my Nigerian financial advisor.

That being said.....anyone need some nice Kumho 13" tires

How does it work?:
You deposit the check for $1500 into your account.  The check will come back with insufficient funds. The bank then takes the 1500.00 back out of your account.

If you're not hip to the scam, you've sent the items already or done the unthinkable... and actually given someone 1300.00 AND your items.

Most people can avoid the scam by making sure the check clears the bank. Once the kind buyer hears those words... communication dries up quick.

If it sounds too good to be true... it is.

Offshore/foreign businesses are frequently inundated with phishing requests to buy/book their product with a credit card.  Customer wants to send you a credit card to pay and will even add a generous tip.  He also wants to send extra funds due to some odd circumstance, like paying his agent, who is currently indisposed.  Instructions are to keep the funds for your business transaction, and please forward the balance (after keeping a % for your trouble).

After lots of exposure, the scams are easy to spot, but crooks keep changing the bait they put on the hook.  You know the old saying: if they only put that effort and time into a legal enterprise . . .

Even if the check clears it can come back later as ISF....( ask someone in banking) Never take a check Period. PayPal can be a pita too as a Buyer can request a refund for any number of reasons..I'll take a small PP deposit only without exception. Never send funds via Pay Pal using Friends and Family option ( no PayPal $ charge to receiving person) as you will have no recourse if you have a problem with what you bought. Wire transfer is a secure one way " valve " so to speak.

Ash is available, for an extra fee. We don't use Maple except for syrup.

Actually, maple bats are quite good, if you are looking for a traditional wooden bat.

Maple is a nice, hard wood.  The way Ash trees are being destroyed by the Emerald Ash Borer beetle these days (thanks to our friends in China), you might not be able to get an Ash bat in the future.
