I've been toying with the idea of installing power windows. The kits they sell pretty much have everything. But they are made for a framed window. Being our speedsters don't have a top to the doors I was wondering how the guy with the crank window are installed. I'm not sure how the window is supported in the up position. Is it just a matter of cutting the window long so in the up position the window will still be in the door by several inches. The long window along with the door itself is the support of the window in the up position? I was even toying with the idea of adding a triangle openable window to square off the window and add some support. But have since decided against it as it will destroy the essence of the car.
Does anyone have any insight? or even better yet some pictures.

Hey Ben,
I was the first to get the windows installed on a Beck, the window is supported on the inside because the window rides in a track and that supports it in the up position. If I get a chance, I'll try to post some pictures the next time I break the door panels open. I would imagine the kit would have these "tracks". What would be good is that if one of our IM friends would post some pictures of the system used by IM. I would be interested in see the same. The Beck also uses a removable frame. I'll attach some picture of the finished project. One note, I have returned the frames to BSC to be retooled during the down months that she's in storage.

Ok Ben,
Sorry I got lazy and did not take the door panels off today but I have some older pics when I was replacing relays and actuators, so hopefully that will surfice.
The previous owner really chopped up the door to put a sliding power window. Only changes I made was to replace the rusted pieces with new POR-15'd ones and put a small support bar in the middle. Any questions please ask. Its pretty simple as I looked at it and it has switches mounted on my console.
