I have an Electric VDO Speedometer.

I have calibrated twice. After calibration, it does some odd stuff.

Going 0-10 MPH it sits at 0
Going 10-20 MPH makes it freakout. It jumps to 20 and then starts jumping between 20 and 40 MPH.

If I speed up past 30, it slams all the way a right.

Any ideas? Is it my Sender or Speedometer?

Thanks
Todd

Todd, I suspect David was correct about contacting one of the 2 speedo repair places in CA. Given the symptoms you mention it sounds like more than just the cable is messed up. (There is no "sender", just a cable from the left front wheel to the speedo) Other than verifying the cable is connected, turns freely, is not kinked, there is not much else to do on these as far as checking them out.

So, I do recommend checking the cable, one other thing comes to mind, there have been some silly symptoms reported if the cable goes too far into the speedo itself......as I remember it should go into the speedo about 1/4" to 3/8th".....the square on the end of the cable that is....
