Cruise for a 356

Before you start.. I Know !!!. But mine is a fully automatic with a type 3 tranny and t-4 engine I have a cruise kit I just need to find ivory switched for the thing that look correct.

Any Idea's?

What kind of switch do you need? If it's momentary contact, perhaps the dimmer switch on your turn signal stalk- then you could move the dimmer feature to a floor mounted foot switch. It would be very clean and easy to use...

I've purchased a lot of interesting switches and stems and such on the SAMBA, many of them look great in my pencil cup at work! Just kidding...I would think you could find some sort of wagger with the switch either in it, or worse-case scenario get a newer (ouch) one that you know functions in that capacity and paint it ivory?

I was hoping to find some early porsche prospective parts.
Right now 2 ivory door bell buttons are all have found that looks neat enough .If I can find a ivory on/off slide switch to put in between them of simular size. I think I can make it look decent.with a aluminum frame 3/4 by 5 right above the radio.
The crusie kit is a Rostra electric servo unit, they say its the best. I put one on the other car and its very steady and concistant

My son and I were working in the garage today and I did come across a bag of goodies...mostly switches though. I'll look further. Your later post gave me the idea it will look like maybe some sort of heater control? With the slide business?

Barry...I don't have anything that remotely resembels your needs. I did see item #2438844180 on eBay...had controls and such.FYI

I looked at it ,It is very very much like the early switch I have that already has a ivory knob Mine however only has 3 connector screws . Na!! not gonna crowd up the steering wheel.

I have decided to use 3 of the door bell switches. and wire in a dimmer relay on the center one as a on/off , When I finish the trim plate the words can be ingraved.

Set/Coast On/Off Resume/Excel

Gotta love doorbell switches! When I was rearin' to add a starter button I couldn't find what I was looking for, so, 'Ace was the place...' I added some years to a doorbell and its metal trim, and Voila' another refinement to the tub, guaranteeeeed to make a concourse judge cringe!

I'll be way more than curious to see your final product Barry, it ought to be trick!

My feet and legs are bothering me a lot lately so the automatic tranny and that crusie are a welcome relief. This is a replicia I dout if a concourse judge, would even look or care enough to except it as a car.Let alone a Porsche. But yes I do want the crusie switches to blend in and not stand out like a sore thumb. Im still looking around,
Im not gonna rush the parts selecton process, If I can find smaller neat ivory switches? I will refine the appearance.
