PEOPLE OF EARTH!! (I mean SoCal SOC'ers)

I'm trying to put together a morning cruise that starts in Carbon Canyon and ends up at the Planes of Fame Museum (Chino Airport). My neighbor is Director of Operations there and I asked if he could arrange for a group of us to pull our cars onto the museum grounds and take group pictures in front of various WWII planes. If you've never visited this air museum, it's VERY cool!

He said he would do us one better and set aside an area where we could park in the hangar so other museum visitors could also gawk at the cars while we tour through the museum.

Let me know how many would be interested so I can give him some logistics. This would probably be sometime in early May.

Let me know and I'll set up this gig!

I'll shoot for a Saturday. In the past, most of the local SoCal SOC'ers have expressed Saturday as easier to attend such an event. The museum is located adjacent to Chino Airport with easy access to 91 Fwy for commute home.

Plan on about 3 hours time for this cruise and museum visit (not including your commute to starting point). I will get some weekend choices from my neighbor (Museum V.P.).

Here's the scoop;

My neighbor (Mark) was able to set aside Saturday, May 5 2007 for our SOC/Planes of Fame Museum Cruise. We will arrive at the main gate at 09:30am and escorted to a hanger area where our parked Speedsters will also be on display. Mark will arrange for a P-47G Thunderbolt to be rolled out for our group/car picture. Pic of that plane on link below. We can tour the museum at our leisure (LOTS of cool WWII planes to see). Be sure to bring your cameras!!

Rendevous for this cruise will be 08:00am at Fire Station #3, 400 N. Kraemer, Brea (Thomas Guide/Orange County, Page 709-E6). Exit 57 Fwy on Lambert Ave (Brea) head east 1.5 miles to Lambert/Kraemer intersection.

We will leave this location no later than 08:30, head through Carbon Canyon arriving at Chino Airport approximately 09:15am. Those unable to meet at 08:00am can meet us at Planes of Fame Museum no later than 09:30am (directions - link in 1st post of this thread).

Easy access to 91 Fwy for commute home.

Hope you can join us on this cruise - see ya there!!

Mark -

Borrow the plane, get a few of the East Coast SOC'ers together to pitch in for fuel, fly across country, land at Chino Airport (next to Planes of Fame Museum) and join the party! Check out the list of planes on hand for us to see...

Besides, Larry B. will need some help chowing down on the biscuits & gravy he's going to order!
Right-on Adrian... I look forward to following that sweet wide body thru the canyon.... NO I'm not talking about Jimbo.... I am talking about your sweet black widebody tub! I don't know about the biscuits and gravy, but I do enjoy their pancakes and eggs!

I just think it gonna be very COOL to have our tubs in the same building as these hero's of modern Aircraft.. What an honor to be there..GREAT job goes out to my brutha Jimbo here for setting this up...
