I note they are not carved in to the contour of the windshield post, but just sit inside w/ a straight cut edge. Do they flap around and rattle up against the WS frame? How does that work?? And does the buyer attach the posts to the frame so that they go in the exact right place? How does that work?
Sorry, I should not have assumed that everyone knows the specifics about my "CruZin" windows and I should have posted a few more details.
The windows are braced on the outside edge by the rubber trim that rests along the top edge of the door and by the two pins and the strap on the inside of the door. The pins and the windows are both slotted to allow adjustment for variances in distance between the post holes on Vintage and JPS Speedsters. They will not fit CMC, FiberFab or Beck Speedsters right out of the box, but Vintage and JPS are very consistent with their side curtain mounting grommets. To be used on Speedsters other than Vintage and JPS will most likely require that new pin mounting holes be drilled in the windows and outer bars or that new grommet holes be drilled in the door rail. If not properly done, the chrome on the bars or the windows themselves can be damaged.
Here is a link to a prior discussion about my "CruZin" windows.
Here is a 20 minute video of me driving one of my Speedsters with "CruZin" windows installed.
And here is what my eBay ad says about them:
Porsche Speedster "Cruzin" Windows
Custom made replica Porsche Speedster windows for top down cruising.
These windows are custom made to fit replica Speedsters manufactured by Vintage Speedsters and JPS Speedsters, but may also fit Beck, CMC, FiberFab and other replica Speedster as well as original Speedsters.*
They are made from a special green tinted acrylic material that makes them appear to be glass. The green tint is barely visible when looking through the window, but very visible on the highly polished edges. The hardware is high quality chrome plated (in the USA) stainless steel.
As mentioned, they are designed for top down cruising. They can be used with the top up, but will not completely fill the window opening. The doors open normally with the windows installed and the windows are stable at highway speeds, which can be seen in the video at the bottom of this page.
*They will fit Vintage and JPS cars without modification. Other Speedster makes may require an additional hole drilled in the door rail at the top of the door panel for mounting. It is also possible that Speedsters other than Vintage and JPS may have the windshield installed further back or forward than JPS and Vintage, which would cause them not to fit properly.
Somebody once posted a picture of a Speedster with "CruZin" windows installed and the top up, but I still don't have one. Maybe I can take one over the weekend, but for now, just imagine what it would look like if they were roll up windows that were partially rolled down. There is, obviously, a gap between the top and the windows.
I'm pretty sure that people ask that question because they want to use them as a replacement for the regular side curtains, but they were designed for top down cruising.
That always leads to the next question, "can you make them with full size glass to fill the entire space"? The answer is no, because there is just too much variability between windshield placement and there is no way to seal them against the windshield. Each set would have to be custom made to fit each owners Speedster and the cost and time to do that makes it VERY impractical if not impossible.

Hey Troy and everyone, I bought a set of these from you two years ago and they fit perfectly on my (what I assumed) CMC. I made a completely new set of door top rails because the old ones were wood under the vinyl and were totally rotted. Anyway, I just made the pin holes match the side curtains that came with the car and they matched your Cruzin Windows fine. Your pics of pin dimensions should allow everyone to check their car before ordering. Check first, don't assume they won't fit. These are the greatest accessory I have. They fit snug, don't rattle or move and don't interfere with opening door at windshield post if installed correctly.
And I did see a pic where someone had apparently made a custom set that did fit the arch of the soft top but you are right about the front windshield mating. Won't work.
