Troy....Will these new windows replace the current side curtains most of us have ?   I really don't like my side curtains because the restrict my visibility a lot.. I love the green edge !!..........Bruce

Yes, but as it says in the ad they do not fill the opening.  It will look like the windows are rolled down a few inches.  Someone posted a picture of it on the SOC previously.

They are designed for top down CruZin!

I really like mine but had to do a bunch of mods to fit them to my SE/Beck Speedster. They are great with the top up or down.

Thanks Pete.  The old version was designed specifically for Vintage and JPS cars because their side curtain placement was consistently in the same location.

The new version will work for any Speedster because the mount pins can be placed anywhere along the bottom edge of the window.

An additional new feature is that the pins can be bent slightly to tilt the windows in or out to clear the windshield frame.

They can even be used on other non Speedster cars that have side curtains with two pin mounts!  I need to get a list of cars that use side curtains.  Anybody know of some?

Troy, have you are considered making a similar replacement for the side curtains with a wind wing? It would be great for those really hot day driving through the valley when you need to top up because of the glaring heat of the sun, but the windows removed is too much wind.

I think I have seen a couple of posts regarding someone attempting this.

I wonder how many on here have never been in a car with wind wings?

Here's a few pic's of mine I got a few years ago and moded to fit my SE/Beck. I really like them for winter drives though as Troy said they don't cover the entire opening. What they do do is give good visibility and block most of the wind. They are very easy to pop in and out too. Now that Troy's making them adjustable should be very easy to install.  Pete101_2269101_2270101_2271101_2272101_2273

Good job Pete!  I'm glad you were able to modify them to fit your Beck, as you said, that shouldn't be necessary any longer with the new version.

It looks like you mounted them a little further back from the windshield than usual.  In most installations they tuck in just behind the windshield, but they still look great.  You probably did that so you could use one of the existing pin mount locations and then you only had to modify the other one.

I got mine a couple of days ago. The pins were thicker than the holes in my door bar so I drilled them a little larger and took the grinder to the pins to reduce their size a little. They look great.

People may not realize that the forward edge tucks in behind the windshield post. When you open the door, it doesn't catch the windshield frame because the new windows swing away from the windshield post. I'll post a pic as soon as I can.

My wife is going to drive my Beck in Powder Puff next weekend in the Bugoramma. I'm hoping these new windows will pass tech inspection with the top up. We'll see. We will have three cars in the races, assuming they allow the speedster to race.

Thanks Bruce.

The link shows Sold, but there is new link and I do have more sets available.  Just search eBay for troys8869 if you don't see them, or contact me directly to order a set.  If you are serious about wanting a set, don't wait.   They go pretty quick and the last time, I was out of stock for several months.

Also, as I have mentioned previously, I am testing a full size version of my windows and hope to have them available before fall.

Trust me, it's way more complicated than just making them bigger.  Not only do you have to contend with clearance at the windshield, but they also need to clear the convertible top bows at the rear.  I think I have it worked out however.
