Ray Armstrong and I met in Davis, talked about the old days (both Navy Photographers in Viet Nam) and then took off for the curving ag roads - not a cop in sight.

For lunch we stopped by the Plainfield Station for what I consider one of the best hamburgers around, I had PBR and Ray had a golden brown something, the place is sort of a funky old road house converted from a gas station. Mostly bikers hang out there, same kind of people (older) as speedster types except they likely have better balance.

After lunch we hit the road and crashed (snuck) into the Blue Max go kart track for a couple of laps before going our seperate ways.

Ray says he will post a couple of pics in a couple of days...

I took the long way home. From yor house to Woodland, from Woodland the old river road. to West Sacramento to the sacramento Port to look on my boat, from there down the south river road to Freeport, from freeport to Hood from Hood to I-5 ,up I-5 to Ekl Grove blvd. and home. I hope no one turned us in racing around on that go cart track. What a way to speed the day. I hope to do this again real soon. --Ray
I think Brian Bell would be motivated to carve a few tours on the "Blue Max Kart Track." I told him about it at the BugOrama and he got this funny "I can do that" look on his face.

I've done it a lot, just drive by and note that no one is around and whoopie. I've never seen the gate closed, police would never wonder even if they noticed. I did see a sign about trespassing and something about "prosecution" but have never slowed down enough to read it.

Umm - we were just taking pictures!

Actually gentlemen,

I have recon'd the site with my Nissan Pathfinder on a lunch hour a couple of weeks ago...

tight track but definitely a grinner when I get my tub out there for a run.

Unfortunately, I am a bit noisier than most of us, so I'll have to keep it limited to a lap or two.... grins.

shhhhhhh...don't tell nobody.

Hi Brian,

I have a real nice video capability. Give me an alert when you are coming over and we will shoot some frames, record some sound. Maybe Theron can help us post a Quicktime movie on the site.

I could run over and call you from the cell phone if it is clear, might save a trip because sometimes members are there testing cars and practicing.

Outlaw carving - don't tell anyone.

Michael
