Paging Joe Lampariello!

Here's a link to pictures from the May 20, 2006 Crystal Cove meet. It has some cool pictures of your partner, Curtis, driving your blue Lambo - your Speedster is also in that group of pictures!

On this link your Lambo Roadster is on pages 2 & 3 and your Speedster is on page 4.

I must have just missed you guys there that morning - I guess I was too busy stuffing my face with a Cinnamon Crisp from the Pacific Whey bakery!!

Later!

Vince - and any other Southern California SOCers - every Sunday morning there is a huge gathering of exotic automobiles at Village Coffee Roasters in Woodland Hills. It starts at about 8:30 AM and usually grows until about 10:30 or 11:00 AM when folks start leaving.
Take the Valley Circle exit off the 101 Freeway, turn south over the freeway and the huge Shopping Center parking lot on the left will be brimming with expensive iron (and fiberglass).
The last Sunday of the month is usually the largest turnout, but every weekend there's a large group of guys, gals, and great rides. Always a few Replica Speedsters & Spyders, too.
It's worth a visit...bring the camera!
Joe L - When I was at CC 2 weeks ago, the main lot was half-full when I pulled in at 06:15 a.m. - I'm guessing it will fill-up even earlier this weekend!

P.S. - let Matt know that I changed the caption on my picture of him leaving CC in the GT (LOL)!

Vince, My Brutha - I'm guessing it would probably be easier for you to stay up a couple of hours later to make this event! Let me know if you decide to attend some morning - I'll hook-up with you and bring some Bloody Marys (the drink) to get you jump started!

Peace - Out!
Jim - Guess that's why I didn't see you at Pismo this weekend. There was a car show here but not one Speedster. There was a Cobra and beautiful it was. Anyway, Kirk says my car may be done next Saturday, so I will be looking to hook up with you guys somewhere for the ride to Coronado on the 15th. Who is putting the route together so I figure out where to meet?

Warren
Gabe!

Dude, you should have turned that camera around and shown off that styling hat you were wearing!!

Good to see ya at CC - hope you had a good time and that you didn't have to put in too many hours at the office afterwards!!

I'll be gone until after July 4th - but when I get back I'll try to set up a cruise through Silverado/Trabuco Canyon (ending at Rosie's Cantina for lunch). Just for laughs, we'll terrorize the bikers at Cook's Corner as we pass through.

Later!
Cory, Kirk sent that photo. I've asked him to send more. When he does, I will post them. The darn thing may be done this weekend. I think I caught them in a slow period. I can't wait. Well, off to golf. I am celebrating my 62nd. Ugh! Funny, I don't feel that old. This Speedster thing makes me feel young again. I mean like teenager young.
Adrian, my brutha!

The closure of Crystal Cove has been pending for some time now with increasing complaints from the residents of the multi-million $ homes overlooking Crystal Cove.

I've dealt with the Irvine Co several times before in my business ventures and I gotta tell ya, those stuffed shirts make Rush Limbaugh look like a bleeding heart liberal left-wing fanatic!

Wherever that show ends up, it will never be the same - because it would be hard to duplicate the pleasure of driving to a car show via a drive along the coast and afterwards cruise through a beach town like Laguna Beach or Newport Beach!

I'm glad I had the opportunity to experience it while it lasted!

Maybe we can start another high-end exotic car meet in Chula Vista or Mexicali or Inglewood or Barstow!
Whats wrong with the Fashion Island parking lot directly across from the Edwards Cinema as a replacement locale? It would be virtually empty Saturday mornings, I think there is a Coco's Coffee Shop 100 yards away , and everyone would have to travel PCH to get there. Anybody up for a 7:00 or 8:00 a.m. rendezvous this Saturday for coffee and b.s. session? The Irvine Co. owns the property and I'm sure they would welcome us with open arms LOL.
Hey Tom & Candace!

The Irvine Co has already indicated that they will not welcome a car gathering of this size at any of their locations (Crystal Cove, Fashion Island, etc.) Trust me, it's been through Newport Beach city counci meetings and that whole gammut. The old argument about revenue generated by the attending crowds doesn't sway them either - when you already have a gazillion dollars, what's a few extra thousand dollars from this event (pitooey)?

Did you catch the article in today's LA Times about this meet - it states that the Ford building in Irvine (Spectrum at Alton/Irvine Center Drive) offered their lot for weekend meets.

Anyway, here a link to some pictures of the final Saturday morning meet at Crystal Cove!

Cory, my unda cuva brutha!

I wasn't at the meet that morning, so I couldn't say with any certainty, but it sure LOOKs like the BTTF car (wait a minute BTTF looks like it might insinuate something nasty - let me re-phrase, it sure LOOKS like the Back To The Future car!

Either that or some code-writing, spyware-hacking, scuzzy-board designing computer geek just drove by thinking there was a Star Wars convention!

...and anyway, what are you doing on the computer, get your ass back to work on that Project Hoopty - times a-wastin'

Peace - Out!
I'm at work tonight. Have been since this morning, and will be in Navy Blues for the weekend. The Wrench is on the job, though. Check the updates?
Meanwhile, I've been looking at those classy California car shows and perusing the owner photos here on the old site. Passing time, looking at Speedsters. Damn sure are some fine-looking cars here.
Why would anybody want anything else?
The event formerly known as Crystal Cove Car Meet has a new home in SoCal.

The Ford Motor Group is hosting this weekly Saturday car meet at their Advanced Design Center in Irvine (corner of Alton & Irvine Center Drive). This is also the location of Ford's Premier Motor Group (PAG) Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar, Aston Martin.

The exhibit area at Crystal Cove had 200 parking spaces. When I drove by the Ford building this past Saturday, their 400 exhibit parking spaces were filled - with overflow traffic spilling onto the huge parking lot across the street. This meet was 'off-the-hook' with exotics, muscle cars, motorcycles, etc.

Next week the Mazda organization is hosting Sevenstock. A humongous gathering of Mazda rotarheads and their cars (Angela, thought you might like this link).

http://www.sevenstock.org/

Hope to see my SoCal SOC friends there!!

Peace - Out!
