Lane,

I noticed you changed the handle on your shifter. Did it just screw off? If you remember, I have the T-handle. I thought it was permanant but I may be wrong. I like the idea of being able to change the look. Did a standard ivory shift knob fit? just wondering the posibilities.

Thanks,

Marty

I'm not sure how the T-handle is attached, but the knob just screws off. Carey took an ivory knob and rethreaded it with the right sized threads, but I have since painted the original big black knob ivory and reinstalled it. I just like a larger knob. Doesn't everyone?

I'd look for a set screw of some sort, as the push button on yours means that orientation of the handle is important. Are you coming to Carlisle? If you haven't figured it out by then, I could take a look at it.
I'll take a closer look. My T-Handle has a butterfly on the stalk for the reverse, it's not on the button(handle). I also like the larger round knob you had previously. I would like to use my Mainly Custom by Design Porsche Knob. I'll get off the pot and book Carlisle this week. I may have to go to Ohio for Biz on my way across the Midwest, so I can kill two birds with one Speedster.

Now that you reminded me about your having the trigger instead of the button, I'll be willing to bet that the handle is screwed on, but has a lock nut of some kind to ensure that it's oriented correctly. The smaller knob that Carey gave me looks more authentic, but it allows the trigger to move up farther, and it can actually stick. You might want to see if you can get a knob from CSP. I can bring the smaller one to Carlisle and you can take a look at it. Assuming that I have decided once and for all to keep the big knob (quite likely), the smaller one is yours if you want it.
