csp shift knob.

recently saw a post on this site discussing a porsche crested shift knob that offered different diameters. hoping to fit the csp shift lever. Any thoughts?

If you have the CSP with the round knob, be aware that it is not a simple fit. There are actually two different diameter, the largest without threads. That allows the reverse lockout release to retract up into the knob. You CAN fit something on just the threaded part, but it doesn't look that good, and the edge of some of the exposed aluminum is a little sharp.

Be aware that it might not fit all VW shifters/rods.

Carey custom-ordered mine threaded to fit a Beck. I think that it was about $20 extra. It took a LOOOONG time, but, it came in before the build was complete, so there were no delays. I think it took about 8 months.

I need a hurst style one for my bug but in ivory ..but no shift patterns on it.

Hey Bob i've bought a 60% throw short t-bar CSP shifter with a black Ball (threaded)and wouldnt be without it. Only took a week to come through, although l do reside in the UK. If l can be of help and purchase it and send it on let me know and well sort something out.

I do have the csp with 40% shortened throw. Then I saw the porsche emblem on the black ball with a number of diameter offerings. Just curious to know if the porsche crested black knob would fit the csp shifter.?????? Thanks for the attention.

Saw this when in Morrow Bay a couple of years back. Fibersteel? Ordered one, put it on. Might be a little better if done as a custom and the knob fit down on the shaft just a little more, but you can make it fit, and it works. The round knob that comes w/ the csp fits the hand just right, and is as ergonomic as you would like. The wooden knob w/ P-crest is much nicer looking, and goes w/ the Nardi st. wheel, but sticks up just a little -- would be better if the shifter shaft could fit up into the knob just a bit more, but the knob is only so big. these are small points. I can get to the reverse lock-out just fine. It is a nice dress-up. Mildly expensive.
