Hello Ron .... I wish there was a way for you to hear live what Jake Raby and Carey Hines did with the sound on my suby .... I would bet you may change your mind
Your engine IS the radio, music to my ears! Excellent!
Gary
I've never liked the sound of a Suby engine. Mind you, I don't much care for the sound of a type 1 VW engine either.
Now a 911 engine at 7,000 rpm.....that's another story.

Over the years while tracking I've heard a lot of WRX and WRX STis, most of them with aftermarket exhaust systems, and I wasn't impressed with the sound. Recently, a friend bought a 2015 WRX and took off the rear mufflers. Surprisingly, the car sounds really decent.
Bob, I wish I'd make a sound clip of my old 911 powered single cab pickup (warmed over 2.7). With a big, single Magnaflow muffler that thing wailed at 7200 rpm.
Ron, Jake and Carey tuned the exhaust on TRahn's car to sound non-Suby and very nice indeed. Totally not like the usual blatty fart you usually get from WRX/STi crowd.
Hi I wonder if we could get a sound clip of that Raby tuned Subie engine. Thanks in advance Ray
When it stops raining ... hopefully by the weekend ..... I'll try to get a sound track with my GoPro. I'm not sure it will be quite the same as live.
This youtube was from when JR was testing the engine. It really does sound more like an air cooled live.
Just back from a drive. I really think the car is quicker with this shifter since I can shift so quickly from 1st to 2nd. Just falls into 1st gear at stop. The reverse lockout really works well. Absolutely no way to grind reverse trying to catch 2nd. Best $269 spent on this car. Excellent. I know some people like their EMPI's but there is just no comparison. This shifter is almost as good as the one in my Caterham Super 7...almost.
CSP's rule.
Berg, Vintage Speed, and CSP all make great shifters.
