I saw someone posting & worrying about wheel hop elsewhere on the forum. I was told to avoid wheel hop as that's when stuff starts to break. I bought me a cool wheel-hop preventer from CSP, trouble was with my fancy-schmancy exhaust sytem there was no way to install it.

It is in my left-over bin in the gee-rage. Never installed but out of the box (six or eight times) price 'em and then give me a shout.

Paul,

I might be interested in your CSP bars.

I have a similar unit on my 66' bug that is an absolute must have for high power cars. You have the motor, and I assume you have the tranny to back it up.

My street vw runs 12.2's in the quarter mile and if the traction/torque bars were not in, the car would probably hope like a ball and break expensive parts for sure.

Since your exhaust is in the way, you will have to custom fit a unit into place. Easy with the motor out, but may need a dummy long block in with the exhaust in place to make sure fit is right.

It is as simple as three solid stock bars mounted from frame/tranny rear mount up the the shock tops and then across to one another. There are fancy high dollar units out there, but once the unit is in, there should be no need to adjust it.
Thanks Stan...
I've gone the solid mount route front to back. We modified another hanger/support item trimming a lip out of the way, solid aluminum nosecone & some other little ditty,GB643. hang on, once I get the carbs back I'll take it for a real run. When I drove it last, despite the sputterin', shudderin'& the tick-a,tick-a,tick-a, it felt pretty good... Uh, sort of solid.

Probably going to have to go to a stronger denture adhesive, though.Let's see now, prozac, depends, denture adhesive... what else was I shoppin' for?
WOW! Biker chicks are nothin' like they used to was!
I like barter better.
CSP makes a device that attaches across the underneath of the engine and to the shock towers and helps displace thunder! As I found out, you need a clear shot from poinnts "A" "B" "C" etc.

There is some welding required but we never got that far as my exhaust precluded any hook-em-up. According to CSP, I'm the first guy in three years that couldn't make it work. They sell for $329.

Again, another testament to good design and pre-planning when putting your speedsters together.
