There is a running joke with the Porsche 911 crowd that the cup holder is a roll of duct tape on the passenger floor.

It's dual purpose - you should NEVER travel without duct tape it works great to keep frightened passengers quiet - LOL!

It's not so easy to use.... Try doing a search on "roll bar", and see what you get.

I got - oh - maybe 748 threads to search for "roll bar". And your point is . . . . oh, I get it.

I bought one of those "cup holders" that is spring-attached too the
tunnel and it was just awful.

The best thing I've found is one of those paper mache cup carriers you get at McDonalds. Just place it on the floor and put your cup in it. Start with a cup that you pour 1/3 out of so it won't spill in turns.

Otherwise wait until you have a long stretch of easy driving and just hold onto the damned cup as you drink from it.

I installed one of these, in slightly different places, on each side. They work well for me,, and I like that I can fold them up, when not needed, and they are nicely covered up. Alan

OK folks, I have this one solved once and for all. Just go buy an Oxo Liquiseal travel mug. It is the right tool for this job. It is in fact spill proof, and only takes one hand to operate. The stainless steel one is a vacuum thermos sort of thing, and keeps the drink hot or cold for hours. It can (and mine has) roll around on the floor in the fastest of turns, and it will not spill if you have the little button pushed right. It is easy to use, and a little pricy at around $20. They have an all plastic one a little cheaper, same basic deal, but does not preserve the heat as well and works neat as you please. Really.

I have a coffee mug with a picture of a Speedster on it. I put velcro on the bottom and stick it wherever is convenient on the floor. It'll hold just about any size drink I want.

Someone posted this one earlier. I ordered it and am happy with it. It serves multiple purposes and doesn't get in my way. I do tend to tilt it towards the passenger side to give my right leg a tad more clearance. Also, depending on your passenger, their leg may brush up against it. It has two sizes. Last time I saw it, it was sailing over the hedge that runs beside
the Fairfield Inn in Christiansburg in May, 2010 on the way to Carlisle.

Nope, I'm not going to say it, no, no, no! Alright you twisted my arm, SAS cars come with cup holders. There I got that off my chest. Those buttons you see at the front of the holder is the Cruise Control buttons.

I see you also have a rectangular place to put your take-out box of Singapore Noodles from the Chinese take-out.
