cup holder

My wife bought me for my birthday a wire cup holder that fits on the driveline hump. I assumed since they are made for VW it would fit. My speedster has a 70 VW chassis. I am learning about VW's. were their different heights of driveline humps. This particular cup holder was from EMPI and is 8 inches tall. It appears it would need to be 9 or 10 inches tall to work. Any suggestions? Thanks

Oh boy, here we go again. Another round on cup holder technology. Might I suggest you start with the roll of duct tape approach? Seems to work quite well and has some cost advantages.
