I am thinking about having a cap made with a speedster on it and the words speedster and 356.

As usual they want an arm and a leg for one cap. At 25 the price is bearable. I am negotiating the colors now. I.E, the sample is grey with blue. I am asking if they can do black with white, red with tan, grey with black, green with tan, etc.

If I have enough interest, I will proceed, if not, oh well.

See the sample below.

Topic, Caps.

John Leader and I both have some of the 1st annual Replica Rendezvous 2004 caps and T's available. I'll bring mine to the SOT event and they will be made available at very advantageous prices. They are very nice with the velcro head band, Speedster top down proof,(well almost!)

If needed, contact John or myself for these collector items!

Bruce
i don't know if this will get noticed, but I have further refined the price on the caps with logo and the words "Speedster" and the number "356" on them. The best quality cap for the money comes to $253.11 for a dozen. The next price break comes at two dozen. At 253, the individual price is about $21 a cap. Shipping is about $2 through the post office. Seems a little pricey to me but if there is still interest, I can go ahead. It would really be nice if we could get 50 or so guys interested and REALLY drive the price down.
Let me know what you think

Hey Jeff,

Thanks. I went to the site. I have been seeing those caps on ebay for a while. No offense but they are a little too cutsey for me. Also, the caps I am looking at are structured caps as opposed to the unstructured caps this fellow deals with. I am going to let this thread rest for a while and see what sort of response I get. I can't see paying $25 (total) for a cap so I would have to get about 50 orders to make it worth while to pursue.

Thanks again for the site information.
Dale,

If you are going to come up for the SOT at Grants Pass on Oct 1-3 at the Riverside Inn, I'll have them there. Sure would like to see you and a few other NoCal guys come up and join us. I've laid out a pretty good tour route, nothing to be a butt buster. Good route, good friends, Speedsters and Spyders. A win-win deal.

If you can't make it up for the tour, then drop John Leader a note about you getting one. I'm sure he'll drop one in the mail for you at a good price too.

Let me know if you'll be up, come on you guys, maybe we'll see Big Foot!

Bruce
no offense:

but please tell me that these are not the tall billboard sized hats that you see in truck stops for $2.99. those are so 1970.
the only folks that wear them out here are driving beat up ford f-150's.

the close fit unstructured hats stay on much better while driving a top down speedster.
Hi Bruce:

I was refering to the new caps that gary is looking into. I never did like the old style foam backed tall crown baseball caps. I had to wear them while in the air force for twenty years. A tall crown on a cowboy hat looks good (johnny twobolts style), but not on a ball cap. But then i'm no hip style guru either. Although, when i have my air cooled spooner on driving the speedster i think i'm styling with the best of them.

Maybe the lynnsabcs.150m.com that has the low crown hats refered to in an earlyer post, can get the tall ones in their inventory and then we could have something for everyone. Gary! maybe you could submit your design to them. as they would more than likely be able to get the design implimented and on a cap cheaper.

just my two yen
The caps I am refering to have a low crown but are slightly reinforced in the front to hold their shape. No trucker hats for me either (no offense to the truckers out there, just a matter of choice). I have contacted your guy by email and am waiting his/her response. I will post when I have more
Hi Gary:
I own a trucking company. And i do not care for the trucker style cap. So no offense taken.

Although i become very offended by my fellow truckers when they drive or act in a manner demeaning to my profession.

Went to a german fest in the black hills today. And of course the speedster drew lots of attention. Not that i mind, as it gives me the chance to show it off.
Still no response from the guy at site www.lynnsabcs.150m.com
I will email him again. I know what you mean about drawing attention. I went to the gas station today just to put air inthe tires and I had 3 different guys pull in to the station just to get a closer look. Sorta like a proud poppa, yes I am.
