THE BARS ARE IN!!!!!

(God, I can't believe it's been since 12/26 that I posted the pics of the holes I cut for these. I guess that's why I was bitching about it in the other post. Almost 2 months!!!)

Alright, I'm done bitching. The bars are in and I took it for a ride right after we finished. What a difference! The car feels sooo much more solid, not the slightest rattle. Keep in mind right now I'm sitting on a phone book to drive but just the difference from the other day when I drove it with the new shocks in it is considerable. Now it goes in to have the floor patch welded in and then I'll be on the home stretch.
I've said this before; If you have the means and/or tools to do this I think it's well worth it. Collectively the time to do this project is probably half a day. I no longer have to worry about degeneration in the weakest point of my car. Before we welded the second point we jacked up the rear part of the car to close up the exaggerated gaps in the doors and get the subframe back to where it was originally. After years of road wear and tear it tends to get a little flimsy.

I picked up the speedster from having the floor panel welded in this morning, bolted the seat in and then took it out and beat the crap out of it!
Since having those support bars installed I hadn't given it a proper road test.
Man, what a difference! To say there is a noticable difference is an understatement. There is absolutely NO noise, rattle or sense of looseness in the chassis at all. This is one of the best improvements I've made to my car thus far.
Now all that's left is to patch up the holes.
